Fantastic and interesting tour Guide was brilliant Saw a lot of the countryside and learnt a lot about the culture and history Would highly recommend as you get to see more of Chiang Mai outside of the city
We had already been in Chiang Mai for a week but our guide Tiu took us through different neighborhoods and unique locations where we saw life outside of the usual tourist spots. It was a fun day spent with nice people from across the globe. We think we rode 28 miles (45 km) . Flat terrain over a variety of surfaces from urban asphalt to rural paths through rice fields. A good experience!
Terrible. Find another tour group. This company is not reliable and was a disappointing NO SHOW for our last morning in Chiang Mai. We had changed the date of our bike tour through Trip Advisor but apparently this local bike tour company never processed the date change. The tour company representative was very polite and apologetic and assured me of a full refund, but our last precious morning of vacation was lost to us. I had messaged the company directly a few days earlier asking what sights would be included on the tour – with no response from them. This should have been a Red Flag to me that there is no administrative back up . They likely have good guides … but clearly confusion and inept back office operations didn’t communicate customer logistics.
James, our guide, was superb. He had great knowledge, good English and a nice sense of humour, offering great insights into Thai life, culture and traditions. The cycling was easy (25 miles) although the bike was quite heavy. Fab lunch and really interesting to see the farming around Chiang Mai. Added bonus was watching farmers harvest and pack their Longan fruit.Tuk Tuk back to base to avoid traffic.
Really worthwhile excursion. Bike is the best pace to see the beautiful countryside. Mai is a great guide. We appreciated her perspective on all that we saw.
Absolutely would recommend! It was my first bike tour ever in a new city and I have to say, I learnt so much and got to see so many of the more local and hidden gems of Chiang Mai. Needless to say, it served for some much needed exercise after a week of eating the delicious Thai food! The guides are fluent in English and the group is small enough that we weren’t slow. We also did not at any point feel pressured by time. It was a relaxed tour where, to reiterate, I learnt a lot about local customs, ideology, history, and more.
I thought this trip was superb! I highly recommend it to anyone with reasonable fitness who enjoys gentle cycling. Our guide, Mai, was fantastic – knowledgeable, kind, and happy to answer any questions. She looked after us well throughout the trip and spoke excellent English, so we really were able to learn a lot from her. Awesome views and insight into the countryside and farming areas – so nice to see this side of Thailand outside of the cities and resorts. The biking was slightly hairy for a few minutes leaving the city in the morning, but we all handled it fine. We were in our saddles for maybe 2.5-3 hours total, but with plenty of stops and a comfortable pace – not too slow nor too fast. The bikes and helmets were good, and the trip felt very efficient and well organised. Thanks again to Mai!
I recently embarked on a half-day biking adventure through the old city, and it was a game-changer. From 9 am to 2 pm, our knowledgeable guide, Thew, took us on a leisurely 10-mile journey through the streets, effortlessly navigating flat terrain and charming passersby with his excellent English storytelling. The company provided top-notch gear, including helmets, bikes, and refreshing waters, and even treated us to smoothies mid-tour. As we pedaled, Thew shared captivating tales of local history and his own personal anecdotes, painting a vibrant picture of the city’s culture. With his keen eye, he also snapped stunning photos of our group, which he kindly shared with us later. What truly impressed me was the exceptional courtesy shown by local drivers – cars, tuk-tuks, and motorcycles alike yielded to our bike group with ease, making for a stress-free and enjoyable ride. Overall, this biking tour was an unforgettable way to explore the old city’s hidden gems and experience the authentic essence of the local community.
This bike ride is not for the faint of heart, but if you are looking for a fun adventure and the ability to explore areas we most likely would not do on our own. Our guide was amazing!
I had an amazing time cycling around with our guide. He was very professional and let us discover the beauty of the Old City of Chiang Mai, including local temples and markets. The guide spoke good English and that allowed us to ask questions and get to know a lot about the city. Finally, the group was quite small, which was good and made it safer to cycle around.
Really fun and interesting cycle tour of CM countryside suburbs! Fun train journey to start then really gorgeous meandering countryside riding. Stunning temple visit with excellent lunch stop. Mr T was a really enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide!! Great fun! Flat riding circa 50k was easy and beautiful – can totally recommend!!
