9 thoughts on “Calypso Cabaret

  1. They don’t even sing, they barely dance, I don’t really see the point of this. Not many people clapping in the audience other than sympathetic claps. Avoid at all costs.

  2. Excellent evening, gorgeous ladies!!! Even had men who were beginning their journey. Funny and light-hearted, exceptional talent. If you have an open mind well worth a visit. Thoroughly enjoyable evening.

  3. I brought my teens to the show, it was a eye opener to them. Although the performance didn’t really sing, but the show was still quite entertaining. The dinner was not very good, but it came with Thai culture performance, still quite worth it.

  4. It’s a typical drag queen lip sync / lady boy performances. The Christmas special was a great way to end the show. Enjoyed the songs that made it more international flavor. But the “Free your mind” song killed it – amazing as well as Bruno Mars song. The comedy performer was good, but nothing too over the top as other shows have done in terms of cheekiness. The hosts and transitions were a bit weird at times and felt too forced and not flowing. Stadium loading and unloading was pretty efficient and the ticket did include one comp drink upon admission. Minimal crowd interaction compared to some other shows I’ve seen. Photos after the show if you exit house left and along the exit hallway. Simple tip and you can get your photo memory with the ladies and girls. Would recommend if you have never had the opportunity to experience one of these shows before.

  5. My wife and I had a good time and a laugh – the cast ensemble looked great in their outfits and the show was lively and upbeat in tempo – they did a section for Japanese, Indian, US and Thai with all the songs being mimed but you have admire their passion.Tip? You get a free drink voucher so use it on a beer or water as the shots are terribly weak. Arrive at Asiatique with two hours to spare as there’s lots to see in the waterfront markets. The boat ferry is free!

  6. This is a fun evening with joyous dancers miming to great tunes. Costumes are great, it’s a laugh and quite entertaining.

  7. To be honest expectations were not high, we were expecting something on the tacky side, almost sleazy. How wrong we were – a highly professional show, glitz and glamour and all the performers were “convincing”A brilliant show and highly recommended

  8. Honestly this is very low-rate. Like actually pretty bad. If you’re expecting good drag – don’t go to this show. Anyone who lives in a LGBTQ friendly city should be able to find something better than this.

  9. After reading some negative comments about this show we decided to go and really enjoyed it. The interior set up resembles a red Berlin burlesque club. The area it is in is not straightforward to get to on Google maps so all you need to know is to take a train to Saphan Taksin then a boat (which is free) to the Asiatique area or taxi. Asiatique is a shopping and restaurant complex on the river with a ferris wheel – it’s wonderful. The costumes and dancing was old school showgirl style which was fabulous to see – it’s a true cabaret. Some sets weren’t my taste – the clowns that turned into jazz singers for example. Was nice to see that the senior dancer who appears on the poster the right as you enter still looked great – I saw her at this cabaret in different locations some 20 years ago. She is still professional. I would go on a Saturday for more atmosphere as Sunday was half empty. After the show we had a foot massage in the shopping complex to relax. So nice.
