Strange theme park. We were the only westerners there.Nothing really seemed to relate to anything else. There was an elephant and a single tiger you could have your photo with. The animals keepers hit the tiger with a stick and it was on its own no other tigers to keep it company, if you want your photo taken with tiger go to chang mai or kanchanabirri they are better kept. The rest of the park was run down and / or unfinished. There was a nice lake. Not that many people spoke English here as it is mainly for Thal people.
Biggest flooding market in Ayutthaya, centre of Thai culture, food and shopping item. Located in city centre, only an hour from Bangkok, you will enjoy with may activities to be done such as photo taking with tiger, Thai dance show and shopping handmade souvenir. For my side, we spend 3 hours at this market to walk around, eating and shopping. There are vary of food such as Pork Noodle serve in coconut shell, very very big grilled meat ball (size same as tennis ball!)There is boat around market, THB 20/ person, but walk around is OK and can see and buy food & gift and most of travelers are Thai people.Open daily from 10.00 am – 9.00 pm, no admission fee & recommend time to visit this market should be 10.00 am – 01.00 pm.
This was called the floating market, it was very interesting.. We first took a boat around the market which cost 20 THB per person. It was nice waking around the shops are reasonable prices didn’t feel it was over priced tourist rates. There was lots of food too. Was a bit hot though surrounded with water. Also feed the fish for 10 THB, you will be surprised the amount of large cat fish in that water.
Ayodia was an interesting place. Its not a big place but you still get a lot to see and to do such as the floating market, elephant rides, shopping, etc
This floating market was set up about 5 years ago to attract a crowd of locals and tourists alike.Take a rented bicycle or motorcycle taxi to get out here, as it is not in the centre of town. There is souvenir vendors, food stalls – and fish massage for your feet. There are also elephant rides available.
We went to the floating market of Ayutthaya today. I was a bit skeptical due to some negative reviews. However we got pleasantly surprised. I can recommend it for a day trip. The market is located at a side road of a small back road. That didn’t look promising. Upon arriving we were waived into a car park. Strangely enough it was empty. The man who told us we had to go in there came to us and told us we had to pay 40 thb. He must have thought we were stupid tourists. It turned out we had to pay to park in his schade. Didn’t do so and went to free public car park. Before entering the market we had to pass some shops and some animal caves. Among them were sheep wearing full fur in 40 degrees. That’s also where the elephants were, but we already went somewhere else for them. When going inside, I had to pay 200 thb inclusive of everything. The thais were for free. The market consisted of some shops (duh) with actually not too bad merchandise. The floating part must have been the stationary boats which were used to prepare food. It had nothing to do with a floating market. We had some food somewhere in there which was ok. Price wise and portion wise (cheap but we needed2 portions each, even my 9 yo son). Then we went to a show about some fight of Thai against Vientiane or so. I didn’t understand it. The fight play was nice, but the dance at the beginning was performed by really unmotivated artists. The boat ride was nice. Comfy. Not to short not too long lasting. Spent like 2 hours in there and enjoyed it. Why only 3 starts you might think. Well if you treat the animals like that it doesn’t deserve better. Further it is so much about getting your money it has a negative impact. After the play we tipped the actors, but later they showed up somewhere else as well. Just for tips. When going for food there were more then 5 offers being pushed. At the same time….
I really wanted to go to floating market, and I found this one. It was interesting. I think that it’s not what you have in mind when you think of a floating market, but entrance to the market includes a boat ride around. All most all of the items you can buy here are souvenirs. Your ticket also includes a cultural performance. Fun and different from other things you would do in Ayutthaya
