Do not visit. 200baht mandatory fee for a 15min boat ride back to the entrance……for a floating market that you casually walk through in about 20mins or so. Some of the bridges were aging and had holes and nails sticking out (dangerous!!). We had lunch here and it was hands-down the worst food we have had in Thailand by a long shot. The dishes had no flavor at all. We regret visiting.
Not my favourite part of Ayutthaya, and it was in such a deplorable state. Most shops are closed and at some point it made me wonder how the businesses within the area are managing to survive. The waterway was dirty and most of the nooks and crannies were left unkempt.
It’s a completely SCAM! DON’T GO! 200 baht for nothing. I feel scammed. Don’t go by any chances! Trust me ?
Unhappy, felt disgusting, 200 Baht just to walk into a market??? really??Its not worth. Please don’t fall for this scam.Left hand side you can see elephants and small market which is ok to go…
After reading the reviews I see this was a tourist trap all along. I went on a Klook tour and this was a spot on the tour to see the floating market. The cost was already part of your and there’s shops. There was an elephant zoo place I asked if the elephants and ani Al’s are treated humanely and the tour guide said yes. I decided not to go to elephants and tigers zoo. If they are treated humanely or not I won’t know but this pace was average to me.
I passed by the Ayutthaya floating market but I did not really like it as it’s not authentic. recommended to go to the one in Bangkok.
Avoid complete waste of time free to Thais 200baht for foreigners. Racist scam unsafe and crap. Don’t do it!! Very annoyed coming out of there!
Give it a miss…run down, unsafe and lots of empty stalls. Charge foreigners 200 baht to enter. Locals free. Absolute rip off for a poor market
Ayotthaya floating Market and floating Market Day trip..great tour guide and tour. A driver was very supportive and a good effirt for guiding anywhere trip..and a lot of many things to do…floating market day trip is very friendly and kind…excellent guide tour..Ayotthaya a nice and very presentable…
The floating market is purely a tourist thing. It has got nothing to do with a real floating market. And it is also not for free. Elephants are being exploited and baby elephants maltreated at the entrance.
No one should be riding these elephants .. hook stick being used on them to train them and keep them in order. A baby elephant Also there that should be still with it’s mother … don’t support this horrific treatment of these beautiful animals … stop all elephant rides and the appalling treatment of these animals ?
