  1. You can see how the figure was built, and while the walking Buddha is the only clear one remaining you can see from the outlines which the others were (sitting, standing, reclining). Also interesting mortise and tenon cut slabs of rock wall.

  2. You access to this place going outside of the Historical Park. You can go by bicycle, it’s a 1,5 km ride in the countryside. You will find another temple right across the road. The 2 big standing Buddhas lost their heads, but the good thing about this place is that you will be alone and it’s a great feeling after the crowds of the Historical Park.

  3. An impressive temple, even in ruins, is quite discernible as to how it once looked. Has an impressive mandapa with images of Buddha in four different positions. Two are very clear, while the other two require a little visual reconstruction.

  4. The large temple is outside the historical park and is surrounded by a moat. The ruins are in a reasonably good shape with the bases of the buildings, pillars and surrounding walls still standing.A wall at the end of the prayer hall has the lower half and shoulders of the original statue with the head missing.Being off the beaten path, the temple is not crowded and is a very peaceful place to visit.

  5. The Sukhothai Park is quite extensive. The south site is located outside the Royal City. You can get there by bike or tuk-tuk. The temple is nice and it has a lovely pond and sculptures of large Buddha in the 4 sides of the mandapa. Few people visit this site. It is very peaceful and nice. There is no entrance fee. Pictures could be very nice.

  6. I feel this is the highlight of the tour as it is very large and lots of the statues and building are still there.Taking a bike tour is the best way to get around and this temple deserves at least 30 mins to enjoy and seethe design

  7. There are large Buddha images on the wall. The temple is surrounded by wall and moat. The place is quiet and very few visitors. It is about 2 kilometers south of the southern city wall.

  8. This ruined temple was originally quite big and since it was surrounded by a moat, it must have been an important place as well. The temple had a statue of a standing Buddha, however, now only the legs remain.

  9. Wat Chetuphon is located about 2 kilometers south of the main section of the historical park. It has two large Buddha statues, but both unfortunately missing the heads. There are usually very few visitors to this temple so it is a relatively serene place. Also, it can be visited without paying any fee. But, if you are pressed for time, this is one that you could skip.
