  1. The entrance fee is 150B and they provide free locker to place your belongings. Basically there are two buildings open for visitors, but the main building consists of two floors has the most collections to display. Another small building is closed but visitors can view from outside via glass windows on the display of collections. The small park at the back of the buildings is very relaxing and beautiful with some collection display too.

  2. Nice break in some airconditioning after the heat of the historical park. Contains many artifacts from the local area. What I didn’t like was the foreigner pricing of 5 times the Thai price. Thai drivers license not accepted as you need a Thai ID.

  3. Great place to get a historical appreciation before heading out to explore the sites. Terrific collection of photos taken before restoration as well as a fine bronze walking Buddha considered the best example of its kind in the country.

  4. This museum had some very interesting information about the history of this area. All the exhibits were also in English which was very useful

  5. We visited the museum after the visit to the historical parks, and it was very interesting to see both how it looked in the parks before they started to renovate the parks. Also, there are so many great items to have a closer look at. When we were there, there were lots of local school children visiting the museum.

  6. This museum is located on well landscaped grounds near the entry to Sukhothai Historical Park. Admission is 150B and we were requested to leave our day packs in free, keyed lockers. The museum was well organized on two floors with a central Buddha. Note that closing time is 1600/4 pm, which we hadn’t and therefore we only had 45 minutes. Worth more time than that.

  7. Go to this Museum before you tour the Historical Park. You’ll understand what you see at the park much better. The displays in the museum are well done and the explanations are in multiple languages. The history of the area, as well as the artifacts, is well presented.

  8. located close to the main entrance for the historic park, this museum has some few nice pieces on display. however, considering the 150 B entrance fee (compared to 100 for the historic site), I would rather go twice to the site then once here.

  9. The museum is just okay. There are a lot of artifacts from ancient Sukhotai and lots of Buddha statues, but not with a whole lot of explanation as to their place in history. One fascinating thing, however, was the history presented on the birth of the Thai alphabet. I read Thai, so I found the display where they showed the evolution of the Thai alphabet to be really awesome. I would normally give this place 3 stars, but I’m deducting 2 stars because of the racist pricing. You are charged more if you are white or any color that is non-Asian. Also, this place doesn’t have air conditioning, which is a bit bothersome since, well, Thailand is hot.

  10. After an early morning 5 mile walk to see the main structures in the Historical and North Park, we paid 150 Thb each to stroll through the air conditioned galleries of this 2 floor museum. The main hall featured the Walking Buddha, a 1st C Bronze drum, many preserved Buddhas of all sizes and materials, terracotta water pipes, coins/currency, weaponry, pottery diorama and scores of examples of Chinese porcelain from the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. This 1983 museum is a worthy compliment to the 1 square mile UNESCO Sukhothai Park.
