  1. This temple located not far from the Historical park; within walking distance. What I love about this temple is it’s in the middle of water, make it like an island.

  2. very nice, quite and small temple in city center (between our hotel Tharaburi Resort and historical park) – not overcrowded – lying Buddha statue and foot print

  3. The chanting began as I approached the Wat. It was wonderful to visit and walk around this Wat. The beauty at sunset was breathtaking. The fish in the moat swim all over the place!

  4. Cute little island well worth a short visit. Unlike the other pagodas inside the historical park, this is an active temple in everyday use by locals. A nice and lively counterpoint.

  5. This temple situates in the middle of water. Ancient pagoda still remains and Buddha’s footprint in a small hall also. Local people always come to this place to feed fish in the lake. There are numerous catfish in huge size.

  6. Not really much to see at this working temple. Highlight was feeding the massive catfish in the moat surrounding the temple.

  7. The early morning monks walked at 6.20 every day. It was so beautiful and peaceful place. The temple looks different after dawn.

  8. Wat Traphang Thong or “golden lake monastery” is located next to the Sukhothai eastern city gate. This temple was built around 14th century. The temple is located in the middle of a lake and can be reached via a bridge. There are many Buddhist statues and monuments there, but the master piece of the temple is a footprint of the Lord Buddha (created in 1359 out of dark gray stone). The Buddhist symbols of the week days are other interesting things in the temple. Each day has its specific statue in Buddhism. Wat Traphang Thong is the only active temple of the historical park and some monks still live there. Every morning you can see a row of the monks in orange which are going out of the temple. The grounds of the temple are green, neat, tidy & lovely. A fresh food market with the same name is sticking to the temple. When you are in sukhothai, visiting of this complex is recommended.

  9. The best place to listen the silence. In the middle of the lake full of fish and even turtles.Very beautiful during the night.

  10. This temple has an old stupa and also houses the footprint of BuddhaUnlike the other temples in the Sukothai historical zone this is still an active place of worship
