  1. This wonderful Art Gallery is also a Guest House and provides a framing service. There are 6 rooms varying in size and theme, all beautifally decorated and reasonably priced. Breakfast was delicious and there is a nice variety. The staff are friendly, professional and accommodating. I highly recommend a browse through the Gallery of paintings and antiques, a coffee stop or styaing in one of the rooms in this gorgeous place.

  2. We happened upon this place on our way to Heun Pen (which is close by and serves nothern Thai cuisine). When you first open the door to Jang Muang Gallery you will enter a small area with magazines and carved masks on the corridor to the left. At first we thought this was all there was, but we soon found out that the gallery is spread out all over this traditional Thai house. After passing through the corridor we crossed a small open courtyard and entered a cafe area. Here too there were more craft items and antiques for sale (including some interesting silver miniatures in a glass case near the cash register). We continued walking to the left and entered a modern gallery with some very nice paintings. We were more interested in looking at antiques and, after walking through the gallery area with all the paintings, we were rewarded. Down a small set of stairs we entered a separate room filled with all kinds of antiques: carved statues, wooden carved reliefs, rooftop decorations, agricultural tools and implements, lacquered bowls, wooden serving trays, woven fabrics and more. We couldn’t resist and each ended up buying something. What a cute hidden gem. This place also does framing and even has a few guest rooms they rent out as well. Check out their website as well. Open from 8:00am to 6:00pm. Hope you enjoy exploring as much as we did.

  3. Jang Muang Gallery is one of those places that you love so much that you do not want to tell anybody about just because you want to keep it all for yourself. Based on what we wanted for ammenities and comfort, T.K Guesthouse compiled and arranged 3-4 options for us. Jang Muang Gallery was one of the choices and immediately it caught our hearts. From the guestrooms to the staff to the ownership, our stay in Chiang Mai was polished off with a stay in one of the most pleasing guesthouses in the city. We loved our stay and loved the people even more.

  4. Jang Muang was just wonderful. It is a small boutique hotel with just six delightful rooms and suites which just radiate warmth, character and traditional Lanna decor. We had the one bedroom suite on the top floor which overlooked the local temple (complete with monks, local worshippers and gold trimmings) and had a great view of the sacred mountain of Doi Suthep. There was a separate bedroom with a sitting area for watching TV, a separate lounge/eating area with another TV, a sparkling bathroom with good quality toiletries and an outside kitchen area on the long balcony with kettle etcThere was plenty of storage space, lots of lovely art work on the walls and Thai crafts on the shelves and tables. Fresh flowers, too!Breakfast was served on the outside patio area and was fresh, well cooked and attractively presented. There was a choice of egg dishes with side dishes that varied daily. Always served with a smile and genuine warmth.Location of Jang Muang is excellent. It is inside the Old City just off the road which runs parallel to the main drag and so you can walk everywhere within the walls very easily. The Night Market outisde the walls is a bit further away. The Saturday Walking Market (the best one according to me) is just a little walk away as is the Sunday Walking Market (very crowded). We had a totally excellent experience. In fact, I would rate staying at Jang Muang as part and parcel of our Thailand journey and one which added to our appreciation of the charming city of Chiang Mai

  5. a very cosy place, located at a quiet soi in the heart of the old CM quarter, surrounded by romantic backyard streets and easy walking to the night bazaar.very lovely atmosphere, a great breakfast and wonderful personal service, every room tastefully decorated and fully equipped by the owner who runs an art gallery at the place.
