  1. Worth a visit, really nice beach with a couple of bars/ restaurants on the cliffs, beds, umbrellas etc are free.Food was great and not many people there. You’ll walk through a resort that has been abandoned after the govt declared it a National park.

  2. The beach itself could be stunning, but unfortunately it is covered in plastic and washed up rubbish. The old hotel nearby was partially torn down for building on a national park which makes the place feel sad. I imagine they would have cleaned the beach in the morning as they do at the Sivilai. Still worth the walk though as we met really wonderful local people there, and the hilltop restaurant is along the way.

  3. It is the only public beach in the island on which it is safe to swim. It has some great views and is an overall ok beach. Has some bars and restaurants tucked away to the sides that makes this a pleasant beach to stay at for a while.

  4. We went here just to view the sunset. Tuk-tuk trip to and from our hotel (Sivalai Beach Resort). Short trip that let you see parts of the island. We only stayed on the beach for an hour to see the sunset. Might be a nice place to go for a day trip as well. Sad to see the former resort buildings and swimmingpool ruins.

  5. great beach for people of all ages with no rowdy crowds and 2 great little bars that serve food , great for couples and families.

  6. The beach is indeed nice but just a few footsteps behind the beach there is a large garbage dump that destroys all the positive images. The Thais have a very weird understanding of nature and garbage – They keep the sandy beach clean, collect most of the trash, but then throw it into the jungle just a few steps behind the beach. What good is a beautiful sandy beach if there’s a stinking garbage dump right behind it?

  7. Very nice and quiet beach in Koh Mok island. There was nice sunbeds on the beach, price was 100bath/ person or you can buy some drinks etc. from the bar. Sand was white and there were only few people, which made this experience even more unforgettable.

  8. There are lots of people here and little shade. If you choose to use the chairs or umbrellas be prepared to purchased something for the locals or the restaurants. It’s a nice beach and being in a bay the waves are less.

  9. What a beautiful beach, the best I have enjoyed in Thailand. Clean and crystal clear water. Such a laid back and very affordable island still living the fishing and farming life. Kayak 30 mins to the emerald cave and swim inside. Snorkel over the coral and its like an aquarium packed with fish.

  10. This is a small paradise cove. It offers white sand, in a sheltered bay. The water is nice and clear. A must see/ visit if you are on the island. This is the perfect spot to watch sunset in. The sea bed hear is mainly soft sand, with only rocks in either end of the bay. It’s about 300m long, and is either 30-34min walk from the pier, or 10mins on a tuk tuk (100baht one way). There is shade under trees along the back of the beach, but there is small scrub under them, so not comfy to lie on ). There are two bars in the back left of the beach. We favoured the bar called Mong (read their reviews ). Sun loungers are available, but on the unspoken premise you buy (at least) 1 drink from the bar they belong to (which I feel is more than fair ) or there is plenty of space to put a towel or blanket down. You can hire kayaks on the beach by the hour, and is a good place to set out to see Emerald cave from (it’s at least 2hour round trip). There are often tuk tuks waiting to take people back to the main area near the pier (or any where you request ).Check with the hotel you are staying with, sometimes they are happy to provide taxi service for you for the same price.(Our experience was of a clean beach, but this is a general paragraph about the islands – rubbish is a problem in the sense there is no mechanism to get it off the islands. They are waiting for government to do something about it. Try not to leave too much of a foot print, and not to be too critical when reviewing places on Thai islands. Each business does it’s best to clear up own area where they can, but you may see rubbish washed up in some areas or piled up in bags. )
