After today’s experience, I wish I have paid an extra 100/200baht and traveled with Lomprayah as I did on the way to Koh Tao! They were superb. The ferry part was fine (other than departing and arriving after scheduled) but the bus journey from Don Sak to Surat Thani was a nightmare! 2 guys on our bus missed their flight to the UK (pre arranged transfer with Songserm) because the bus driver didn’t speak basic enough English to understand the airport people needed to be dropped before anyone else. The back of the 12 seater mini bus were 15 passengers crammed in, we had suitcases on our lap and people sitting on the floor, with an empty seat at the front the driver to use as his ‘coffee holder’. We had arranged a town drop off, which ended up being a 6km drive front the centre, they then tried charging us $500bath to get there.I’ve only given this review 2 stars because the ferry wasn’t so bad, the company in general they aren’t up to scratch. As for the driver of this bus, nothing personal but as he is working for such a large company, he needs to be taught some basic customer service skills.
I think that what you expect from a ferry it will come true. They do not have the newest boats but therefore they have a very stable boat that goes a little bit slower but cut through the waves. On my way to the Island I have used Lomprayah bouncing up and down with a lot of people wommitting arround me. The stewards from Lomprayah new this as they were walking with rolls of bag where people could womit in.With Songterm it was smooth and calm, it was very nice the trip over, no womitting people and a nice atmosfere!
At the time the service wasn’t too bad however when we got to our hotel and unpacked our bags it was clear they had been looked through. My packing cubes were all rearranged but more disturbingly my underwear cube had been looked through and my pants were missing!!! Not only this my partners sunglasses had been stolen and his packing cubes all open.Do not travel with this company. Stolen items of value is somewhat expected in these circumstances but women’s underwear is just wrong!
I am pregnant so you can imagine how often I need to pee especially in the morning after a cup of tea. I was glad the bus + ferry would have toilets but then when I went to pee in the bus the toilet was locked and there was no staff of the company to ask if it could be opened or if we could stop somewhere. I even considered peeing in my glass because it was so difficult. I held my pee for 1.45 hours and of course I went to pee right before boarding the bus too but it is what it is, I needed to pee again. I’m just mad even when they had a bathroom it wasn’t open.
Horaires non respectés (1h30 de retard) personnel déplaisants et manager agressif et très violent (photo)… Préférez pour quelques bahts de plus Lomprayah ou Seatran, des compagnies sans problèmes. First thing first let me tell you that I’m considering myself an agency and also a customer. Most of the boat company that I work with and using are great. Of course except this company, they change the prices as much as they like *without* informing the agency which we sometimes end up getting 0 Baht for what we work for. They also don’t give agency their legit schedule! Being 30-60 minutes late from their schedule is what you should be expected. All of those can be acceptable (not really but what could I do) but I lost it today because when I was on the phone with one of their office staff. She, who is basically a stranger, refer me as ‘it’ ?? As if she compare me with some animal or something. What a great service one could have asked for! it might sound like a tiny thing to be butt hurt about but imagine how they would treat your friends or guests when they’re on board. I won’t risk my reputation for their shitty work.
Ferry is always late. Service isnt good and why u cant change the time of ferries if they late all the time anyway?
We booked the ferry from phangan to samui. is was chaos on the pier, nobody knows anything. the check in is confusing. and also we are delay.
I booked all of our ferries online before we left.We had the Songserm boat from Koh Tao to Koh Phangan. The boat was older than others but was comfortable and not crowded. The booking office is in town around 3 mins from the main pier and the boat leaves from a different spot which was quieter and not packed so getting onto the boat was easy and painless.Ran on time and a smooth 1.40 min trip to Koh Phangan.Would be happy to travel again with them.We were able to lay down over seats as there was so much room
