  1. A little harder to get to as it is on the outskirts of town, this is a wat with a difference. We have visited over one hundred wats in Thailand, and you tend to get a bit picky after a while. This wat is definitely worth the visit. Apart from the fact that it is so different from anything we had seen before, the craftsmanship of the oarsmen carvings was really unique. If you are in Ubon Ratchathani, this is something that is very special and should not be missed.

  2. Also called Wat Sraprasansuk, this temple has a very unique selling point. The main ubosot is built upon the image of a barge, one of which rests on a lake. Perfect chance to feed some fish and take in a relaxing atmosphere. Quite difficult to get to without private transport, but if you have rented a car, it is worth the journey. Not too far from town/airport.

  3. This temple is very unusual as it has a pagoda built on a boat on the lake. It is very eye catching and besides the architecture there’s a gorgeous surrounding landscape to enjoy see

  4. My children (11 & 13) enjoyed feeding the huge cat fish in the lake surrounding one of the boat temples. If you enjoy seeing the wide variety of differently designed Thai Temples then this one has to be on the list!

  5. The imposing elephant statue at the entrance welcomes you to this impressive Wat situated a short distance from the city. Worthwhile taking your time to study the workmanship of the various structures within the grounds.

  6. Nice place to come and take some pictures but the flying rats (Pigeons) on the boat temple in the lake are too much.Bird poop everywhere and not a good idea to take off your shoe to go inside the temple.I belive they are feeding them there.

  7. Nice visit, travel under the belly of a guarding elephant and you will see a large boat with lots of crafted work.Hard further back and there is a concrete boat, get some bread from the vendors to feed the fish. There are some monsters in there,

  8. Located only 7kms north east of Ubon Ratchathani this temple complex is certainly worth a visit. Plenty of photo opportunities. The pigeons certainly detract from your experience around the ‘floating’ boat temple but it is what it is. Allow at least a couple of hours.
