  1. Something you must seen on Koh Mak! Really nice temple with dragons and Buddhas. Looks amazing, because it is on the top of the hill and you can take the stairs down to go to the beach. And the stairs are just incredible beautiful

  2. Yesterday my wife and i sew koh mak temple. It is a small compound, comprising several buildings, a temple with statues and living quarters for the monks. There is an observation platform with a nice view of the sea, two more statues and a gate decorated with dragons. Good to see and, maybe, meditate.

  3. obviously the temple is not the reason why one would travel to koh mak – but while you‘re there you might as well stop by. it‘s very tranquile, time seems to pass in slow motion… it‘s not very well kept, but a nice compound with nice cabins, statues and a great view on the sea. next to the buddha statues there also is a small crematorium – while absolutely peaceful, it still made me shudder!

  4. They have a pretty view, and a nice dragon stair! You can see monks who are living there. The big tree with the statues around is beautiful! It’s good to see, they are renovating and developing the temple’s area!

  5. We stayed at Ko Mak Resort and walked across the island to visit the temple. At first we thought it was the Buddha you can see from the street, but you have to walk up a bit to find it. Very simple place and you can feel the spirit there. Leave some money there in the box for lonely dogs and walk towards the edge where you can see fantastic dragons and have a nice view of the coast.

  6. Actually the only temple on the island. Make sure you visit the stairway – awesome dragon artwork. Better wear closed shoes – we have met a scorpion there.

  7. I was looking forward to going here but a bit disapointed. I found the place a bit shabby looking, fires was set burning all over, smelly smoke. They have about 24 dogs there and I do love dogs but one poor chap looked like was on his way out. The couple of monks we met was friendly just the grounds. Guess they need a few more hands to clean the place up a bit.

  8. This temple is in a lovely location – right on the edge of the sea. Loads to see and very peaceful. Take a scooter ride here and wander around looking at all the different Buddha statues. The central tree surrounded by 5 seated Buddhas is massive in girth and obviously very old.

  9. The temple is being developed with a new hall which will be stunning when finished. We were greeted and blessed by a monk who gave us a charm each (we did leave a donation). The serpent stairway is dramatic and has got good picture opportunities.A nice 1/2 hour diversion.

  10. A lovely surprise this sweet little temple looking out to the sea ❤️luckily I was able to be blessed by the monk in this temple.

  11. Sunrise here is very special…unbelievable really. So peaceful…..l was on koh msk for 6 weeks and visited the temple probably 5 times a week….got to know the monks especially Satheroe Bikku ( Mr Odd) who speaks good English ?
