Amazing Elephant Dung Paper is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Behind Wat Khunaram, 84140, Thailand
We were visiting the mummified Monk and found out this little place behind, a short and very interesting tour about the process of making paper with elephant dung. If you have some little time, go visit it, it takes 20 min of your time and support the elephants cause. We really enjoy the arrow shooting as well ! And the staff is very friendly !
I enjoyed my time practicing archery and learning about production of elephant dung paper which is a wonderful sustainable product being using in handicrafts. I would definitely suggest the visits to give this place a chance for sake of the injured and ill elephants who are being treated at a hospital nearby, I reckon a part of voluntary donations or payment against various activities goes to their treatment.
Lovely to see the 2 elephants enjoying retirement and the vision held in working towards helping other elephants in the same way. Lovely people with a clear passion in what they are doing. Highly recommend a visit and in turn you can help towards the care of these beautiful creatures.
The elephants, champagne and yo-yo were really friendly and enjoyed the feeding we gave them.it was a very interesting talk to the owner who’s vision is to bring another 20 elephants to the sanctuary from the north which are being used for entertainment and let them enjoy retirement.his other idea is he wants to make enough money from the poo paper to build a elephant hospital on the property. This was a great experience and his passion is for every one to see.
