Chiang Mai Zoo Aquarium is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking , 50200, Thailand
Here is a collection of fish species. Many kinds of aquatic animals really are called the best aquarium in Thailand. It is said that the longest in Asia Inside is an underwater tunnel Divided into fresh and salt water, we can see fish swimming in a view that we have never seen before There are many kinds. Of course, we have never seen it before. Should go to travel together very much.
Chiang Mai Zoo was great BUT it is on a very steep hill…there is a bus which you can get on and off at regular stops or you can drive (golf cart)…great views of the city and mountains…very old fashion zoo type but the animals are all there in front of you…the cost is good but be aware that you pay extra for the bus and some exhibits.
We were told the main attraction of the Aquarium was closed. We went in regardless since we often enjoy visiting zoo in other countries. Oh boy, great disappointment! After the Aquarium visit, we waited for 40 mins for the free shuttle to come. Staff has no clue on shuttle timing and kept saying it’s coming soon. Next drop off station, was also equally bad experience. Poor ventilation in the enclosure. The structure of the landscape also make it not ideal to explore on foot as it uphill with lotsa slope. We ended the visit with a round trip on tram and left. Waste of time. Not recommended.
Mostly went for the aquarium as wasn’t sure how well the animals were treated but you have to pay for a ticket that covers the zoo and aquarium. 30TB charge to use a bus that transports you round the whole park. Aquarium was good, long underwater tunnel and large tanks. Some animals seemed okay (always hard to tell) but some enclosures were filthy (penguins especially). Rhino was also swaying which is a sign of lack of stimulation. Great day for kids and lots to see, but depends how affected you are if the animals aren’t well looked after.
Don’t waste your time at this zoo. The only disaapointment in my trip of Chiang Mai. Especially the panda.
This is my first time visit to chiangmai and chiangmai zoo and aquarium. There were so many excitements at the aquarium where we can see many sea life, take parts in feeding fish with milk etc.Recommended to visit this place and enjoy
Very pretty zoo. Very easy to get around, with various transport options to get you around also. Walking around is the best option.Headed straight to the aquarium to do the snorkelling. 133 metre long aquarium tube is impressive, but is in sections. Snorkelling is amazing, and I suggest an underwater camera to capture the memory.
Went there cos my kids wanted to visit the aquarium. The entire zoo grounds is huge so better buy a tram ticket! No way a young family like ours could walk the entire place ourselves. The zoo has seen better days. The aquarium is not worth it. The conveyor doesn’t work and most of the sea life are not interesting. A far cry from Bangkok’s underwater aquarium. Better go to the Night Safari where you can see more animals and experience better facilities. Food at this zoo was bad!
It is a famous coconut pie shop in Chiang Mai. where people frequented to eat constantly The shop is located in the art area around Wat Ket. Filled with galleries and many coffee shops to sit and chill. If driving, it will be difficult to find a place to park. Personally, I like to park at Wat Ket. After paying homage to the Buddha image, walk through the back door of the temple for a bit and you will find a shop.
all the animals looked sad. every cage they looked like they were bored. too many Kangaroos in the one display area. cages not well kept. Aquarium was extra, train around the grounds was extra, Pandas were extra. everything was just a bit off
