  1. Not a lot of different animals to see, but most of the animals appear cared for and have decent sized enclosures. Take the bus round and feel a bit rushed or hire a buggy and take your time. Easy to spend a half day here. Some of the animals can be fed which most children will like. Food and drinks readily available

  2. I was there with some students from a school and it was a very pleasant experience. For those who don’t want ( or can’t) walk the ways, you can rent a Golf cart.

  3. I’ve been to this surprise package a couple of times as part of two separate school excursions.A terrific array of animals combined with a lively tour guide and bus ride made for a fun morning the second time round. As an Aussie…I was delighted to have stumbled across a few healthy looking kangaroos hopping about! My partner, her mother and I popped over last month to wander through a floral tribute to those brave souks involved in the gruelling cave rescue mission. It was just magical…only in Thailand as they say!

  4. This Zoo was surprisingly very good. The animal areas I thought was very good and had adequate enough space and designed to suit the animals to try and create natural environment to attain natural behaviour. Some Zoos in Thailand are very poor, basically a caged concrete area. Ubon Zoo is a great 1/2 day for people of all ages. We got the bus around the Safari part first then hired a golf buggy which was better because could stop where you wanted and the non aggressive animals could come very close. This also enabled you to spend longer at certain enclosures and meant it was not busy from the crowd of the bus. Had a selection of small restaurants at very reasonable prices and the price to get in was 150 baht for foreign adult and 100 baht Thai adult, children and student only 20 baht. Various places to get cold drinks, ice creams and snacks. Their is also various opportunities to buy food to interact and feed many of the animals which was a great experience. Ive never been able to get this close to Giraffe and Zebra. All in all a great day.

  5. A good but not large array of animals. To paraphrase the Simon and Garfunkel’s song: Zebras are reactionaries, antelopes are missionaries, kangaroos plot in secrecy and giraffes reach up frequently. It’s all happening at the zoo.A good collection of big cats is a feature, But there’s no elephant in the room. Maybe they are too common in Thailand for Thai to want to see. There’s a concrete one at the entranceThe great thing to see is that the animals have space and look in very good condition. Some may not like birds being in small aviaries.Take the tour (25 baht) on the open road train or hire a golf buggy (200 baht). Walking is not permitted; there is a sign about riding a bicycle but I didn’t see any for hire or anyone riding them.Good facilities, especially clean and frequent toilets. Lots of snacks and drinks but not much real food in sight at the food court near the entrance.Yes, they charge foreigners more but it’s still only 150 baht 100 baht for Thais and 50 baht for students. Methinks, it’s a bargain.

  6. Great zoo. Can drive through in big open bus or hire small golf carts. Can get up close to deer.No elephants !!! There is a show put on there which is great. Toucans fly overhead from one trainer to the next.Spectacular.Variety of other animals do tricks. Worth having a look at if in Ubon. Out of town but taxi very cheap

  7. Cannot praise it high enough..That was the best zoo I have ever seen.Recommendation: rent a cart!! The animals have massive space, not like in Chiang Mai. Wonderful Park

  8. My wife and I decided to have a look at the zoo over the past weekend and were sadly disappointed. You are required to pay an additional 50Baht if you are not a Thai and it makes not difference if you can show your own Thai issued ID card. The zoo is not kept clean and there is limit animals and no kangaroos as the zoo photos shows. If you what to hire a self drive golf buggy it will cost 200 baht per hour or take the bus train for 25 Baht. As this is Thailand I would have thought at least an Elephant at the zoo but nothing. Overall the zoo was a waste of time.

  9. My family and I stay in Ubonratchathani for one night after long holiday. We went to visit zoo it very nice place and we had so many fun there. Good place to recommend.
