  1. As part of the coastal marine reserve, this is well worth a visit, if you are keen on fiddler crabs and mudskippers in a mangrove setting. There is an easily accessible board walk of about 1.50 kms -with 2 small suspension bridges, to take you into the mangroves. Apparently, I went at the wrong time of the day, and the wrong time of the year (no more migratory birds), but managed to see several collared kingfishers, some egrets, and a heron. Closer to the Centre itself, long tailed starlings, oriental white eyes, and the ever ubiquitous bulbuls could be found. The Mangrove Centre itself is quite hard to reach, and after my walk, the warm and welcoming Centre staff helped me with transport out.If you are fascinated by crabs and mudskippers as I am, then a whole afternoon would be well spent observing them.

  2. A good place for a walk in the mangrove with a 300 m and a 2 km elevated walkway. It was nice but hot with the sun out, and there was quite a bit of garbage around. We saw plenty of mud fish, little crabs and all kinds of insects. and enjoyed the plants and trees of the wet mangrove eco-system and a limited view of the bay.The information center gave us a few brochures in Thai with the Latin names of some of the plants, and there’s a sign outside with the history of the center in English. Entrance was free.
