Went out of our way to get here and we were disappointed. Filthy with rubbish, glass and oily water. Snorkeling is average at best. Don’t even bother the walk over to the connected island, it was even more dirty.
When you enter Koh Ma, you walk along a narrow beach with some trees …. from there just snorkel out on the left very fast you will se more and more corals. The fish diversity is excellent…..
We stayed at Ko mah resort and so spent two weeks on this beach. The water is beautiful without waves and safe enough for children. The beach area is big enough with an option of renting umbrellas and deck chairs. There’s a few restaurants here with an array of different cuisines. The causeway to the island is idyllic and a perfect photo opportunity.A perfect chilled location.
The island is very nicely situated in the north of Ko Phangan. Easy to get there by scooter—> the perfect means of tranport on the island. BUT.,,,, please local government CLEAN YOUR BEACHES!!!!!!Your biggest assets are your beaches and nature on the island and you are spoiling it. Put at least trash cans on the beaches and things wil improve. I understand that most trash coms from the ocean, but in the end it starts with somebody littering….
It was very good in the first 14 days.after then a lot of people from Israel came with children and it was very 😞,not nice at all, some people using the pool from outside.Dont come in April !!!!Its terrible!!!!And nobody from the hotel doing anything
Sad to see so much plastic laying arround this area when I visited. I really hope local government and the nearby cafes do something to clean this place up. At least provide some trashcans so people visiting the beach can help.
What a wonderful place, totally far from the activities and noises of the south, a peaceful place to enjoy with beautiful snorkeling sites facing the beach. Very easy to handle with teenagers even if the distance can from the shore can become a little demanding
We did a tour of the island and it included a stop at Koh Ma.What a beautiful spot.I could spend a couple of days exploring the area and walking across the sand barto the island. We didnt go snorkelling but walked the beach and did the view point as well.Lovely resort there with restaurants, massage huts and lots of places to chill. If you dont have the money to stay here still worth a day trip or an hour or so to soak up the beauty
My stay at this hotel was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. The service was terrible, the staff was rude and inconsiderate, and the hotel’s policies were simply unacceptable. During my stay, I ordered food via delivery (not from the hotel). When the food arrived, I realized I didn’t have any utensils. I went to the hotel restaurant and politely asked for a fork. To my shock, they told me I had to pay a 500 baht deposit just to get a fork! I explained that I didn’t have cash at that moment and offered to pay with my credit card, but the restaurant manager refused. I asked how should I eat it with the my hands , the staff say yes. The staff members were all listening and laughed in my face instead of helping – I have never felt more humiliated.Unacceptable Response from Hotel Management:I escalated the issue to the hotel’s management, hoping for a reasonable resolution, but the response was just as shocking. The hotel manager, who is also the owner, repeated the same demand – 500 baht deposit. When I asked to leave the hotel and receive a refund, she refused and said it was not possible.Hidden Fees and Rip-Offs:The hotel has sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach, but to use them, guests are charged an additional 200 baht. This feels like a constant attempt to squeeze money out of guests for basic amenities.Bottom Line:I strongly do not recommend staying at this hotel. The service is awful, the management has no sense of customer care, and the attitude toward guests is disrespectful and unprofessional. Find another hotel that values its guests and treats them with basic courtesy.
