Bamboo Beach Had Mai Phai is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Thailand
Its a lovely beach with decent snorkeling, easy in and out, not a lot of shade. My big warning: the monkeys! They are theives. After setting our gear down to go snorkeling, we came back and a large monkey was ransacking our stuff! Luckily all he got was my pink lipstick so keep your eyes peeled for a large male monkey sporting bright pink lipstick! He is a thief!
Stayed in Koh Lanta for 6 months during the covid-19 outbreak . This has been my favourite beach by far. It’s the last beach if you head south on the island before the national park. The entrance is beautiful ,lined with white Thai orchid trees. Usually quiet even in high season as most tourists don’t make it this far down the island. 100% worth a visit.
Because of the situation I ended up having to walk here. I only got as far as the (closed) restaurant at the top of the hill before you go down to the beach itself. Certainly looked okay to hang out for a few hours. I enjoyed all the beaches that I visited on Koh Lanta.
A beautiful small beach in the southern part of Ko Lanta. A few small others around. Definitely worth it compared with north beaches.We were alone. Great… and sad.
Stopped here almost by accident as it’s a bit of a dirt track off the main road. Presented with a beautiful beach, lots of trees for shade and cabin selling drinks, snacks and coconuts! Well worth a stop.

Absolutely stunning beach, pristine white sand with blue sea, there was plenty of beach for everyone there to enjoy without it feeling at all crowded. It was enjoyable that you could simply relax and not get hassled at all like you do at some beaches.
Really enjoyed this beach and the motorbike ride down there to it. It was low season and there was hardly anyone else there. The waves were really crashing so did not wade too far out – but the water was clean and fun.
We spent five days at the La Laanta Hideaway Resort which is located right on the beach. The water was clear; there were some rocks but you could go for a swim even at low tide (this is not the case at all beaches on Koh Lanta. The beach is backed by lush green hills. It was never crowded even though we visited during Xmas break. The beach was clean. A perfect place to relax for a couple of days. There is very little shade, so you need a parasol or come early in the morning or late in the afternoon.
Nice beach and scenery, but too much garbage. Some cows present. There is no cafe or restaurant to seat. I would not visit again this place.
