  1. Fantastic half day with elephants. Don’t touch, just follow them, they are up close and personal if they are happy. Highly recommend this experience plus fantastic lunch feast. Everything was delicious, fresh and all friendly.

  2. They say when in Thailand you should go to see elephants and we did just that. Our guide (although I completely forgot his name) was really attentive and knew absolutely everything there was to know about the elephants which made it more enjoyable and interesting to learn about the beautiful creatures and their different background stories. From two female elephant best friends to a lone female elephant that prefers humans more then her own kind, it was all really really interesting as we followed each elephant roaming freely, from a safe distance. At the end of our activity, our guide even prepared fresh fruit for us and watermelon shakes which went down a treat. If you’re ever in Koh Lanta, this is a must do!

  3. What a beautiful sanctuary: a genuine ethical reserve for rescued elephants who no longer need to perform for or carry tourists and can go about their days without being touched or bothered by humans. You can see the elephants in their natural habitat and learn so much about these beautiful creatures from the most amazing knowledgable and kind people. We loved this place.

  4. My husband and I did the half day tour yesterday and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Some areas of scrambling up the hillside were a little challenging for us (65’s) however with Hong guiding us we made it and so glad we did. Hang also spotted a snake, he has a keen eye. (Non poisonous) We got to see 6 different elephants in various locations. All in a safe and respectful distance so not to disturb the elephants natural routine. The resident 4 dogs accompanied us on the tour, they too are happy and well looked after and they like to keep an eye on the elephants. We had a lovely lunch then were driven back to our hotel at around 1pm. Don’t hesitate to visit this sanctuary, every penny helps to support their cause.

  5. A wonderful, moving experience. We so respect and admire Ray who started this Sanctuary. Beautiful, peaceful creatures rescued from lives of oppression. The observing tour was excellent but hard to be pezceful ourselves as the children were their natural noisy selves. We woukd recommend adilt only tours or parents and children groups.

  6. Ethical sanctuary where you observe the elephants in a natural environment. No bathing with elephants, no touching, no selfies. Very good guide. I chose the 2-hour tour.

  7. Absolutely amazing! 1 WEEK VOLUNTEER PROGRAM*REGARDING 1 STAR REVIEWS*Many of them seem to be for nearby places where feeding occurs and chains are used. This is not the same place but nearby “sanctuaries”. I also think there are many skeptical people here who think the worst. That aside – the people here are all so kind, polite and friendly. The elephants are amazing, happy and truly awe inspiring. Cats + dogs as well all seem very content and well fed. There also goats🐐. The volunteer program was such a treat. It is very laid back and you spend a lot of time nearby the elephants. The “elephants lead the way” mantra is definitely kept to and they seem much happier for it. The Mahout’s definitely care about their elephants and anyone that says otherwise has had a misunderstanding. The program is very flexible and we got to decide a lot of what we would do day to day for ourselves (it is not hard work). Most of the time was spent relaxing around the elephants (does not get boring) and we got try a little bit of everything – vitamin ball making, seed restoration, banana tree planting, helping with tours. You are not made to do anything if you don’t want to. The food is genuinely really good as well – I wasn’t expecting much on a volunteer programme but some of the best meals I have ever had. The jungle walk that’s included in the week was also pretty spectacular – never got too close to any of the spiders and got to view from a “suitable” distance. Also not something you’re made to do if you don’t want to but would strongly recommend for the experience. I would advise trusting World Animal Protection (WAP) as we did as this experience has been outstanding! The accomodation for the volunteer week is at a nearby hostel (AHA Lanta) and is very nice if anyone is wondering more about that. There is so much more to say but you should just experience it for yourself. Very very happy. We hope to come back one day to enjoy it all over again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐+⭐

  8. 10000/10 such a lovely experience seeing elephants be elephants, the staff are absolutely amazing and there knowledge is so good, the food included was also really nice. Was so good getting to see elephants up close and personal and letting them be them.
