MaeHongSon Lake is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Thailand
Mae Hong Sonの観光パンフレットにはWat Chong Khamが湖影に映る写真が取り上げられている。近くのゲストハウスで聞いてみると、ここでは魚へのエサ遣りは良いが、釣りは禁止されているとのこと。理由はWat Chong Khamが管理している湖であり、釣りによる殺生は赦されないということだろう。この湖を中心として、レストラン、ナイトマーケット、ゲストハウスがあり、静かに賑わう街の中心地と言えよう。You can feed fish but cannot do fishing. The reflection of the Wat Chong Kham on the lake is mesmerizing. This lake is surrounded by nice restaurants, tiny night market and guest houses you can visit.
Mae Hong Son Lake is the most obvious place to visit. For photographers there are great opportunities for pictures of the temple. When we were there we met many local folk who had come to feed the fish.
Gorgeous view of the lake ( small pond) with mountains in the background. From far everything appears to be clean , lovely giving a sense of being in Switzerland.
Before sundown is the best time to visit, the light is good for taking pictures. While walikng around, feel the atmosphere of sub urban air. The distance around the is only 0.5 miles. All travellers are recommended.
With all the lights and the market a good place to visit. Wander around the market and try the local delicacies
The place to hang out and chill. All streets lead down to the water. Everyone in town heads here in the cool of the evening to walk, talk, sit and chow down. Nice handicrafts and breathtaking view of the lit up Wat.
Lovely temples, great atmosphere here overlooking the lake. The scenery with the temples and the mountains is lovely. I highly recommend the night market with nice food and the Fern Restaurant.
This is just a lake in the middle of town, nothing much to say more than that. Pretty at night though.
Lake is under maintenance. No water at all. It should be finished in Q2 2022.The market and street food is moved to city hall.There are some permanent shop, restaurant remain.However, the temple beside the lake still worth visit.
We were here in the week of Christmas 2023. There was a small light show which (of course) included the coupes of the Thai flag. Very fun to have a quick walk and look at the temple opposite the lake.
