Ban Tha Sawang Silk Weaving Village is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Ban Tha Sawang, Tambon Tha Sawang, Thailand
The loom is somewhat unique as the base shuttle cock is on the main floor, the threading goes up one floor, and also down into the basement floor. I’ve never seen one like it before, and it seems to take three people to operate, making intricate Thai material. A little hard to find in the village, as it is located behind a large double gate that was closed, but someone was exiting at the time, and guided us through. There are many shops in the village selling woven wares, my brother and sister-in-law visiting from USA bought several items and were well satisfied with price and quality.
I was able to see the locals weave silk into beautiful clothing in the traditional way. They sold many of their homemade articles of clothing at reasonable prices.
Visiting the silk weaving house, where the most fine and delicate silk are made. To witness with my own eyes made me realize that why the real one is so expensive. Although you can shop cheaper souvenir and clothing along the road, the experience there is unforgettable.
Fantastic to admire the great handcraftship and to buy beautiful items at a very fair price. Been here two years ago, but great to come back for some more.
If you have 1 hr spare it is fine. Prices tourist rip off. They don’t like to discount one bonus nice to see how they make the silk…

And when I came to Thailand, I had to find unique Thai souvenirs to take back to my parents. That’s Thai silk. It’s very beautiful. My father and mother liked it very much.
