We arranged for a couple of tours – to Similan islands and Hong Island- through Brenda and they were very well planned and managed. I was traveling with my 74 year old mom and Brenda suggested tour operators who typically do small groups and who were extremely attentive and careful with my mom.Would highly recommend Brenda and Pirate Divers for arranging any water or land tours in the Khao lak area. Trust me you won’t be disappointed
Great day out diving Richelieu rock. Well organised, excellent equipment (special mention to their regulators), powerful speedboat to reach the site, large, comfortable liveaboard to dive from. Brenda was brilliant in sorting us out with all the gear, for once someone actually cared if it fitted properly and all of it looks really new, the regulators were only a few days old. Plus I got a nice t-shirt at cost price
Tried to give 6 stars but not possible 🙂 Everything about this operation is absolute top class. The gear was brand new, and wetsuits actually gets cleaned properly so you don’t have to burn your clothes afterwards like with most other operations. We went on a 3 day trip on platform boat to Richelieu Rock, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and it was stellar. Brenda really strives to make every dive you do perfect, and she genuinly wants to you tell her everything about your experience afterwards, good or bad, so that she can tweak and improve on her offers.Last dive shop we went to had great reviews, but didn’t even let us try on the equipment beforehand. With Brenda we must have spent an hour in the shop getting the gear tried on to get it just so. She spent a lot of time fitting my mask since I have a narrow face and even though I found one that fit great she offered me to come back the day after becuase she was getting another mask returned that might fit even better, which it did 🙂 I have now ordered the same mask online.Doing a platform boat trip as our first liveaboard experience was a great choice since it allowed us to choose the number of days we were out and which dive sites to not miss. The large liveaboard boat where you stay will rotate to a new island during the night. You drive out with a speedboat first morning, spend a number of days onboard, then take another speedboat back. I would even recommend this if you are only doing a single day diving. Instead of being packed into a speedboat all day with hardly any room to breathe, no decent toilet etc., for the same price you can be driven out to the platform boat, get great service and food between dives and stretch your legs, then speedboat back in the evening. If you do a day trip you don’t have a cabin of course but the experience is still way beyond the normal speedboat day trip thing which I find quite stressful.With the platform boat liveaboard the more days you spend the better the deal basically. The boat offers 4 dives per day but the first one is at 7AM and the last one is an evening dive, so on a day trip it’s a standard 2 dives since you miss the first and last dive driving to/from the platform boat. But with a 3 day 2 night trip you can do 10 dives. 12 in all but you still only miss the first and last one, so it’s 3+4+3. If you wanted to do 5 day 4 nights you can do 18 dives (3+4+4+4+3). This trip was the high point of our vacation, cannot recommend this dive operation enough!/Matti
We had an amazing diving time with pirate divers. We did a liveaboard, one night on the MV Koon, and completed our Padi advanced open water with a total of 6 dives.We felt very welcome with pirate divers, thanks to Brenda and we were able to use very good diving equipment. Our diving guide was also very professional and a good instructor. We were able to dive just the two of us and our instructor.Although there were a lot of people on the boat it was well organized and we felt that they had a lot of experience with these trips.The accomodation on the boat was more than satisfactory. The rooms were clean, food was tasty and abundand, the crew was very helpfull with organizing the diving equipment and helping you putting it on.The diving sites were amazing beyond words. Richelieu rock surpassed our diving imagination.We would definitely recommend this organization and would choose it again ourselves.
Brenda was great to communicate with x email to book my day diving. She asked that we go to the shop the day before for equipment fitting. Now I’ve been to a lot of dive centres in different countries but never been treated like this! She insisted everything was tried on, using different makes and sizes, until she was happy with the fit. The gear looked brand new and was all good quality (Aqua Lung/ScubaPro) . The day we went diving all worked like clockwork. Collected on time at the hotel. The check in at the pier is really busy with literally hundreds of mainly snorkelling folk. We were taken to a seperate desk so no queueing and again well organised. Plenty Food and drinks before before the trip and after . It’s a long ride (90 minutes or so) on a speedboat on the trip we chose in order to get to the dive boat. The dive boat itself was large, organised and very safe. There are divers on there doing it as a live aboard. If in Khao Lok use Brenda….you won’t be disappointed
If you are considering a scuba diving experience out of Khao Lak, you need to reach out to Brenda at Pirate Divers. She has the advantage of knowing all the diving operations in that area and is an expert matchmaker to pair you with the perfect diving operation to make the most out of your precious time. We had a trip planned to Thailand in February 2024 and didn’t start thinking about including a dive excursion until a short time before that. Brenda worked tirelessly to help us sort through all the options and choose the best offering for the kind of experience we wanted to have. Brenda was very responsive to our questions and very thoughtful in considering all the aspects that might be important to us. The day before we stepped on our diving liveaboard, we met Brenda at her shop for an equipment fitting. We were blown away by the care she takes to ensure every piece is just right. She doesn’t settle for anything less than the perfect fit. Her equipment is best-in-class and we went out with full confidence in all our gear. There are a lot of details that go into planning a week on a dive boat and Brenda was not only on top of all of them, she was a pleasure to work with. We would definitely recommend Brenda at Pirate Divers and should we ever again have the good fortune to dive in the Andaman Sea, Brenda will be the first person we talk to about planning our experience.
One of the best dive spots in the world!!! Never seen so many fish!!! Brenda the lovely lady owner made sure everything was taken care of! Would not hesitate to book with her again! This dive centre is run by Brenda, a very friendly owner. She doesn’t have a boat but isn’t agent of boats organising dive trips for susti mera who have to compulsorily have to go through an agent. But the super thing is that she gives the right and truthful advice about the boats and service on them as there are many dive operators around. Then it’s the customers choice. I would very strongly recommend her to anyone diving in the Similians/Surin National park as there are days when the boats or place isn’t the best for diving during to the rush. We had a super time at Richelieu rich and Koh Bon.
100% recommend to dive with Pirate Divers.Brenda is just amazing, passionate and very professional. As I had a lot of questions and had some ear issues in the past, she spent with us 1h ensuring all is clear and that our experience will be great. We also received a lot of tips from her about diving and equipment. The boat was excellent, the staff working there very organized. Our dive instructor was amazing too making sure all is fine during each dive. There is literally nothing to complain about and we could give more stars if possible.
