I had no idea what to expect when I signed up for two months at Battle Conquer, but it ended up being exactly what I needed! I’m 51 and spending a year traveling the world on sabbatical. My goal is to learn new things, so learning Muay Thai seemed like a fun option. I signed up for the wellness package after seeing some other classes I might enjoy. When I arrived, I was so nervous! Would I fit in? Would I be terrible at it? Would I be the only person who hadn’t done Muay Thai before? Would I be the oldest person? What I found was an incredibly welcoming and diverse group of fantastically fun and non-judgmental people of all different skill levels and abilities from all over the world. Classes were fun and it really did feel like being at summer camp as a kid. I also learned that I’m not really into Muay Thai, but that I absolutely love yoga! Laura, Grace, Anjelie, Chris, and a couple of other wonderful teachers each had their own teaching styles that made classes fun and challenging. (Special shout out to Laura and Grace, whose kindness and encouragement still mean so much.) I spent my days in yoga classes, at the pool, and laughing, laughing, and more laughing with so many beautiful people who were on their own journeys. Sixty days went by so fast, and like so many other people who come, I hope to return one day, maybe even as a yoga instructor. It really was a wonderful time, and I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to get better at Muay Thai or challenge themselves to something new. We all come for the fitness but leave with so much more.
Muay Thai Battle Conquer (also known as BC), is a pretty unique place which is well worth the detour. Leave your ego and hang-ups at the gate and embrace a life changing journey that will help you get better physically and mentally.I opted for the one month wellness package to be able to practice Yoga and Muay Thai during the same period. In addition of the main program, you can also explore the areas, visit temples, landmarks and enjoy the luxurious nature of the region (no need for heavy hiking shoes though, don’t make the same mistake as me?). The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming, friendly and relaxing. From the fantastic trainers, the caring yoga teachers, our lovely cooks, the hardworking maintenance staff, the helpful admin and cleaning crew to all the inspiring, brilliant and supportive guests that come to BC to reset or improve their skills or wellbeing, you will have no trouble bounding with people there. I guarantee you an absolute blast if you like to socialize, push yourself and you enjoy minimalism. The community around the camp is extremely hospitable and the location is the antithesis of touristy and crowded places such as Pattaya or Phuket. If your priority is to do yoga stay in “Camp one”, where all the yoga facilities are located. If you are more into Muay Thai, weightlifting and chilling by the pool after a workout you should probably opt for Camp 2. The rooms are mostly decent but don’t expect a 5 star-experience. You are here to work on yourself, not to spend a lavish and “farniente” vacation. ? Ideally, withdraw cash from the airport (if you arrive from Bangkok) because once at BC, cash is king to buy your daily coconut, get your nails done, have an extra massage or get a tattoo from Yo! Noi and her family are absolutely lovely and you can count on the trainers and yoga teachers to assist you in whatever you need. This enchanting break will pass faster than you imagine so soak in as much as you can, be focus, don’t give up and try to experience as many activities as you can (jungle trail, lakeside walks, buddha run, cooking classes, temple visits and meditation, etc.). Special mentions to the nearby coffee shop, the movie nights held in the indoor shala, and the stray puppies / mascots that bring a dose of cuteness on a daily basis. I won’t miss the crushing heat or the mosquitoes though… So don’t forget your sunscreens and your bug repellent spray ? My stay at Battle Conquer was a life-changing experience that allowed me to forge great friendships, while bettering myself. I’m forever grateful and I hope to come back as soon as possible.
What an experience battle conquer was! Being a Mum of 2 small children I wouldnt usually have the time to travel to Thailand however as they were on holiday with their Dad I thought why not! And I’m so glad I did.I spent 7 days there and it was no where near enough. Accomdation:There are 2 camps and the accomdation differs. I paid for a basic room and was in the yoga camp. If I went back I would stay at the muay Thai boxing camp as the rooms are more modern and next to the pool. However, although basic, they have everything you need and are cleaned every day. You don’t spent alot of time in your room. Trucks run from one camp to the other at certain times however outwith there are bikes to use. I walked a few times and it isn’t long just make sure you avoid the rain! Timetable: Packages vary however I had the full fitness and wellness package. The only issue I had was trying to fit everything in !! There’s loads of choice; muay thai is on twice per day and there are a number of different yoga options with something different every day. The muay thai rainers are amazing, they make you work hard however have a laugh with you whilst doing it! The yoga teachers all have different styles but each one of them are so kind, friendly and knowledgeable and go above and beyond to support you. This was amazing given I was totally new to yoga! There are trips also. I didn’t attend alot of them given my short stay. Food: The food was great. Everything is prepared fresh each day. You can request a raw breakfast/ dinner. I had a raw breakfast every morning with a few eggs and it was so fresh and tasty. Breakfast and dinner is served however for lunch you help yourself to tuna, cheese, bread etc from the fridges theses are located at both camps. It’s hard to sum this place up in a review. For me it was a total mental and physical reset and kicked started a healthier lifestyle back home.
There is a reason why customers come back to this place. It is reinvigorating. This is my second time back. There is excellent Muay Thai training classes, Yoga and Pilates. The instructors are super friendly and the Thai food served in Noi’s cafe is delicious. You also meet super friendly like minded people from all over the world that share their stories. It’s physically satisfying with the fitness and wellness packages offered and also mentally comforting that other people from around the world share the same visions, care and excitement. I plan a third visit to reinvigorate, reset and recharge.
This place is incredible. I am halfway through my 1 month stay. With so many different classes throughout the day you are constantly learning something new or doing something fun. (Muay Thai classes, tours around the area, fitness classes, and yoga sessions). I love being here and cannot wait to come back! The food is delicious – dinner is my favorite here :). The staff at Noi’s Cafe is so kind. The people who attend are just as amazing. It’s so hard to put into words, you’d have to see for yourself. Everyone is here at a different point in their fitness journey, for me coming was about getting fit/losing weight & Muay Thai and I already feel 100% better than when I got here. My skills have greatly improved and i really love doing it so much. The trainers are amazing. They substitute any workouts. The yoga sessions are so good for stretching out. I love getting a massage after going hard in the gym. The best part is the lifelong friends I have made along the way!
This place is awesome! The trainers are super knowledgeable and dedicated, making sure you’re learning proper technique while pushing you to improve your fitness. You can participate as much or as little as you want, and relax by the pool or in a hammock when you need a break. The yoga classes are also brilliant—approachable for all levels and a perfect complement to the intense Muay Thai training. The vibe here is really supportive and motivating—I’ve already extended my stay!
This was my first muay thai training camp and I definitively recommend it. It’s a great way to either start with Muay Thai, or get better at it if you already have some experience. The trainers are great and the location truly is wonderful, very peaceful. The wellness package also includes yoga sessions, meditation and massages which come in handy when training a lot. Besides that there are also some nice activities such as visiting a temple, a lake trip, … Good value for money.
I had a great time at battle Conquer. The staff are all very nice and extremely helpful. The daily schedule is packed with a wide range of activities all of which are well co-ordinated, challenging and lead by great instructors. Regardless of your fitness levels there is something for everyone and it is all nurtured in a supportive, fun and friendly environment. You’ll definelty see your fitness and skills improving with each day. I would definelty recommend a visit.
If you are looking for an authentic experience in rural Thailand away from cities and tourist spots, this is a great choice. Located in central Thailand a few hours north of Bangkok, the camps are in the middle of the countryside among rice and peanut fields. We did the Wellness package, which included both Thai boxing, various types of yoga and daily excursions. We loved that we could wake up each day and decide which activities we felt like doing that day. The sunrise yoga each morning was the highlight of our day! It was my first time trying Muay Thai and the atmosphere was very welcoming! We stayed for 2 weeks but would have loved to stay much longer.Note: There are actually 2 different camps with accommodation– one next to the boxing gym and swimming pool, and another next to the cafe and yoga shala. They are just a few minutes walk from each other (and there is a shuttle bus all day), but if you are focusing mostly on boxing or mostly on yoga it might make sense to ask which camp is more convenient for you before booking accommodation.
I had no idea what to expect and booked probably out of desperation rather than hope. After a stay of 5 weeks I feel refreshed, relaxed, fitter, thinner and without doubt the best I have felt for a long time. I am 60 years old, not exercised for 10 years and lead a very stressful life back in the UK. It took me a few days to get into camp life and stop asking the normal questions – “when did you get here?” And “How long are you here for”. When I finally got into the flow of exercise, yoga, meditation and just chatting to the other guests it was a revelation. I honestly can’t recommend Battle Conquer enough. I stayed in Camp 1 – had wonderfully quiet room ( well apart from my alarm cock ? – without a snooze function!). All of the staff were amazing – but a special shout out to -Massage Ladies – brilliantly painfulPayam- for just being Payam and organising some great eventsLaura – for helping me learn a yoga routine that i can take home with meTo all of the Muay Thai fighting instructors – who were patient, charming, cajoling and knowledgeable in equal measures And to Yo – for giving a very personal (and first and last tattoo) that means so much to me and my journey. So whatever your background, your walk of life, your age you will never regret coming here – I didn’t and I am coming back next year ?
Thanks so much from the bottom of my heart to each and everyone of you beautiful souls that have helped transform my life in so many ways..!!!! When I arrived I was a mess so stressed and burnt out now I’m really living and loving life more than ever and have learned and grown so much !!! I really mean it !!! My cup is full !!!! Keep in touch and see y’all again soon !!!! Khob Khun Kaab ??????????
The camp was really amazing! I had so much fun learning muay thai and trying out yoga. I also got to meet a lot of great people, so thank you again for having me!
This was undoubtedly one of the best experiences of my life. The culture at this camp is brilliant, everyone is super friendly and the staff are phenomenal at looking after you. There are so many activities from Muay Thai (of course) to various types of yoga, great days out, some spontaneous workshops, cross fit etc. The food at Nois Cafe is great- super filling and healthy plus you can buy protein shakes and other goods on site. The pool is a dream to relax around for any down time!
