  1. Can’t ask for a better introduction to my first custom tailored suit. It took a lot of research and planning to figure out that this is one of only two places in Bangkok to make a fully canvassed suit. While I couldn’t afford one this time I wanted to go here to make sure they had my measurements on hand to get one made when the time was right. The lady that helped me was extremely friendly and helpful, as was everyone in the shop. It is a good idea to have some idea of what you are looking for before you show up, but they are more than willing to spend the time if you don’t. Good to have prior knowledge or you might spend all day looking through the fabrics and choosing the particulars of your suit. They were always willing to work with my schedule as I passed through Bangkok for the various fittings. Suit was completely ready after four fittings. Could have been done with less but they made sure everything was correct, which I appreciated. The first suit took about 45min-1hr with the rest getting successively shorter. Not the cheapest suit compared to others in the area, but you get what you pay for. They have the knowledge and expertise to make your suit hug your body like a tailored one should. Definitely go by if you have the time and want a quality suit.

  2. As a Bangkok resident I’d like to recommend Tanika. Only a handful of tailors here do real work, with attention to detail in stitching and using bona fide materials. You will *not* find Italian milled cotton here for 1200 baht – no way Jose. That will be Chinese or Thai and of inferior quality. There are no exceptions. At Tanika you will pay 2,500 to 4,500 and up to 6,000 baht for shirts made from Italian milled material : there is nothing else that means anything in the world of shirting! Not cheap. But for a bespoke shirt, not expensive by Western standards either. Personally, I use them all the time. In a hot climate, beautiful cotton is the only way to go other than linen. They take a week for shirts ; suits and jackets I haven’t ordered yet but from what I can tell, good honest workmanship.

  3. Note: This is for Womens Tailoring Review. My bf got shirts made for like $75 USD each. He has broad shoulders and was happy he got shirts that fit him and has his initials stitched in. Happy for him, but not so much for me.I was impressed with some reviews about their ‘real work’ and pulled up a few shirts and a work dress images I found on pinterest that I’d like to get made – thinking if the quality is THAT good, it’ll be worth it. Since it was my first time, I was hoping for a good experience to come back for more. They added on some high price to the ‘designs’ (I can probably get better quality for that price for silk shirts on sale from Neiman Marcus and theirs was a ‘silk-polyester’ blend), I forked over my credit card, gave an ample 5 days, came back for the fitting and asked questions – and basically what I saw at the fitting was the final product. Perhaps it got lost in translation, but they absolutely don’t answer emails, and of course they pick the day before your flight to drop off your clothes. You’d think they’re doing you a service by dropping off your clothes to you at your hotel, but if it’s well packaged and you can’t complain to them in the shop to make the necessary fixes or question their work, it’s a terrible idea. One wine-colored shirt had matching colored buttons…with “coca-cola” subtly written on them — seriously?! Another grey colored ‘free flowing shirt’ had obvious stitching on the outside of the shirt, when it should be a lot less visible. Also there was a grease spot I pointed out to Tanika during the fitting and they said it was removable, and of course when I got the final product, it was still there. So all in all, I’m going to splurge on good quality non-tailored products in the future, since they are the same cost of inferior tailored clothes, especially cloth. Note: I reviewed all my travel credit card’s return/warranty policy and they don’t cover international purchases either.

  4. There are cheaper option all along Sukhumvit Road, but if you are looking for quality and don’t mind spend a little more in comparison than you should visit Tanika and get some clothes tailored. They are very professional and do a great job. Suits will be THB 15000 onwards, Shirts THB 1200 onwards, Trousers THB 6000 onwards depending on fabric. But its all about quality and good custom tailoring. This establishment is 5 stars in my book.

  5. Of all the shops and services in 20+ years in Bangkok, the Tanika Family is simply the Best. The selection of material on the shelf and what can be ordered is of the upmost finest quality. No pressure to “buy three get one” at all. You get what you pay for be it one or a dozen. The fact you see bespoke cutting in the shop from craftsmen is really a sight to see. I have never been complimented so many times when wearing their work. It is an Experience to create what you want and have it crafted exactly how your body will wear it.

  6. Got excellent suits and shirts made. The fitting is excellent and fabric quality and stitching is second to none. The owners are the most lovely people you can imagine. I’ll be back for more.

  7. I live and work in Bangkok and have tried three other tailors before I tried Tanika, and without a doubt Tanika has been the best tailor by far. Their material is first class, as is their craftsmanship, and they stuck to the deadlines that they quoted (which is not always the case here). I had a bespoke design two-piece silk evening outfit made for my wife, and she is absolutely delighted with it (as am I). From assistance with the design, through fittings, to completion, the entire process was professional, pleasant, and trouble free. There are plenty of cheaper tailors, but if you are looking for first class service, material and craftsmanship, then Tanika is highly recommended.

  8. I am a resident of Bangkok and have had several suits and shirts made here. They are of the highest quality. You need to do 2 fittings. The result is superior to high quality European brands. Best quality cloth is available. Highest possible recommendation. I also had a cashmere overcoat made for my London based daughter and it is superb.

  9. I don’t usually leave bad reviews but I had an awful my experience with Tanika which I will share to warn others.First, they promised the suit would be ready by the day I was leaving Bangkok. It wasn’t.Then they said they’d mail it to me. I told them it had to arrive within a month because I had an event I needed the suit for. They said no problem, it will arrive within 2 weeks.2 weeks later, no suit. I call them and they said it will be sent out in a few days, and arrive on time for my event. It did not! I ended up getting a few weeks later, and two months after being in Bangkok. But that wan’t the worst of it. The suit pants they sent were extremely baggy, nothing like the slim fit cut I ordered.I emailed them again and again but no response.Late, poor quality, and terrible service. There are far better places to get a suit made in Bangkok. Avoid at all costs.

  10. I may not be a real expert, but I have had suits and shirts made for me several times in a couple of countries. I have always done my research to find a good, high-quality tailor, not a one-day wonder. I came to Tanika while having a suit made elsewhere, and wanted a place my wife could have something made. Tanika was recommended to us. That first time, I had a few more shirts made (as well as dresses for my wife), and the quality was very noticeably higher than anything I have had made elsewhere. So this time when returning to Bangkok, my very first stop was Tanika Tailors. I had a suit, 3 dress shirts and 4 casual shirts made, and as before, I am exceedingly happy with the result! They may not be the fanciest shop or the easiest to get ahold of, but if you want nice, quality clothes made, DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE!
