Chakran Sauna is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Soi Ari 4, Soi Paholyothin 7, Phaholyothin Road 32 Chakran Building, 10400, Thailand
The highlight of this place is its apparently newly-refurbished top floor which houses an outdoor Jacuzzi pool, a wet steam-room, a dry sauna, and plenty of lounge space with mattresses for people to laze around (and intentionally put out for orgies and group activities under the Bangkok sky).Otherwise, the other main facility, which is the maze/dark room, is very mediocre cos there’s not much of a distance/space to explore inside.
Interesting first time experience. I think the swimming pool is currently closed, but I got to use the gym on level 3. The onsen on the roof on level 5 was a nice place with lots of corners to sit and relax (in fact, level 4 has lots of such corners too). The onsen water was warm and nice. Steam room and sauna were small but okay (there’s another steam room on level 4).Visited on a Friday night. I’ll say the majority of the visitors are young Asians, although there were also mature men and non-Asians too.IMHO, whether you are want to make some friends, or just relax alone, this is a nice place to visit for any gay or open-minded man.The place feels safe and clean. You can exchange a wet towel for a dry one. It’s easy to get to from the Ari BTS station. The staff were also friendly and helpful.Do check out the FAQ section on their Facebook page – it contains lots of useful information if you are a first time visitor.
Storeyed building packed with local thai gays mostly.A must place to visit if u are in bangkok. Note- a gay sauna
Disgusting filthy and awful reception service. They rip you off the moment they know you re not local Asian or not. They charge you 390b upfront. their reception staff cackle all day cant speak a word of English.Worse, the facility is OLD and run down and they dont even make an effort to upkeep. Pavilions dripping with water, floors wet with mould, doors creaky and filthy to the touch and toilets and bathrooms smell of piss.Avoid like the plague.
The place is well designed but seriously the stuffs need to be retrained how to talk nicely to customers. Need to learn social etiquettes. We paid 390 not free entrance so should treat us much better than this.
Good place, good facility , can find friend at hereNEAR BTS YOU CAN GO HERE ANY TIME. สุดๆเลยที่นี่.
Their website is terrible. Need to redo the website.Nothing is functioning there when you click to open location or anything else it doesn’t go there
I come to Chakran Sauna in the afternoon. I think we where two customers and about twenty money boys. I come mostly for enjoying the pool in a hot day, but the pool was closed for cleaning. I suppose that the cleaning could be done in closing time. After paying my entrance nobody payed attention to me. The boys only socialising with each other. It would be nice if a boy could guide me around and showe all the facilities. After half an hour I left.
I am a 67 year old English traveler have been here twice and found all the staff really friendly and helpful, perhaps it’s down to my friendly approach and kind manner. The customers here are mainly younger locals and again I found them totally friendly and when approached kindly if they were also kind in their response, I’m sure if you don’t respect this you will get a harsher and justified response. Customers were guided at various times to hot activity areas and again if you don’t follow the polite directions by the staff you will probably hear a justified harsh warning as with the rules re underwear and towels. On both my visits 3 months apart I found the facilities pretty clean and well maintained, let’s be real here it’s a very busy gay sauna where you know what goes on, it’s not a 5 star hotel.I really enjoyed my visits here the company of many young local guys, who were not rude arrogant or anti tourists but again I’m pretty sure this is down to how you approach them.Plus get real about the entrance fees, of corse the locals get in cheaper than the tourists do you know what the average income is for locals v tourists? This is totally acceptable standard practice in my opinion. Exactly the same as children and OAP’s like me receiving massive discounts in UK and probably your country too.
The complex has had many recent upgrades to the structure. Namely a new well designed bar. Great to see the company is keeping the amazing sauna complex upgraded. I have been here several times before and as a retired English traveler I find no issues with the locals being anti old, as long as you respect their polite gestures of “no thanks”Also the staff are very polite and friendly, not all speak good English but on the other hand I speak no Thai. Will be back for the fun.
