  1. The Loom is located in Gateway Ekamai, a Japanese-themed mall right next to BTS Ekamai. It offers weaving classes for both adults and children. My kids and I did a kids scarf, kids bag and Weave 1 class respectively. Wiwan and her assistant were very warm and friendly, and helped us understand what we were doing without being confusing or too technical. We were very pleased with our creations and my kids even asked to buy a loom to take home with us! Will visit again when we’re next in Bangkok. If you enjoy crafting, you should definitely pay them a visit.

  2. I went to the loom yesterday where we chose to make children’s scarves. Initially this may seem an expensive activity but once you appreciate the effort that goes in to getting the looms ready, the choice and high quality of the materials and brilliant staff it really does represent good value for money. I went in a group for a birthday and it was a really lovely few hours out of the Bangkok heat. I really look forward to going again and learning some more complex skills. There is lot of completed work in the shop which is inspiring and I particularly enjoyed talking to the staff about how the different patterns had been created. I would recommend this as a great hot season activity.

  3. They made weaving seems so simple! Anyway, this is my first weaving experience, and I can’t wait for another chance to take the next class!

  4. It was quite a new experience. It was also fun to talk to the staff and know how different patterns can be made. A really amazing craft, of which I had no idea how difficult it is before this class.

  5. I was in Bangkok for a short trip and was looking for a painting workshop when I came across The Loom workshop, at the Gateway (Ekamai BTS Station) I decided to join the workshop the very next day!I spent about 2.5 hours on that day learning 5 techniques of weaving with a 2-shaft loom. Though I didn’t do a good job, thank you, Wiwan! It was great fun!

  6. I have just completed the five levels of pattern weaving and a 4-shaft weaving class, and totally enjoyed the whole experience. Khun Wiwan, the owner, and her assistant Khun Kitt, both incredibly patient, have guided me through each and every step, making the craft or art of weaving seem so simple. I am so proud of what I have achieved, and also come to understand weaving is more than a craft and indeed a labour of love. Another good thing about The Loom is that in addition to workshops, it also has a wide range of yarn and looms on offer, much for the convenience of those who are into weaving. By the way, the shop has moved for some time to the 3/F at the Gateway Mall, located right next to the Ekamai BTS.

  7. I completely enjoyed my day at the loom in my first weaving class. I have done many activities in Bangkok and wanted n alternative activity to learn traditional Thai crafts. The Loom did not disappoint. The instruction was excellent, and I ended the class with a beautiful scarf to take home I highly recommend taking a class at the loom.

  8. I really enjoyed our afternoon session where we made a small wall hanging. Staff are very helpful and patient. They have a wide variety of colors to choose from and the class is well organized. I highly recommend as a way to escape the heat and learn a new craft!

  9. I loved really much to have a whole day at The Loom. Wiwan, the owner was very helpful, we decided by a long exchange of mails, what I will be able to weave in one day, what materiel, what kind of pattern, etc. When I arrived on the morning, everything was ready, and she has shown me how to proceed with the loom. The day seemed me very short – I did not realize that the time has gone, so she helped me to finish my scarf. In the shop you have the possibility to buy beautiful silk yarns to knit, weave or any other craft. I’m sure, I’ll come back to her <3
