Asian Trails Samui is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Thailand
Great staff and a good speedboat trip out to the island, but it gets very crowded and take a packed lunch if possible, the food is awful. Avoid the 150TB for 20 minutes of deckchair use, leave you stuff on the boat. Most of the coral is dead but some lovely fish can be seen
It is worth paying extra to go on a speed boat for snorkeling. We arrived at Koh Nang Yuan before the hordes on slower boats arrived, and so were able to explore this small bay in relative peace. The snorkeling was disappointing with mostly bleached coral and a few fish, and by the time we left the place was severely overcrowded. However, after lunch, the snorkeling around Koh Tao was a marked contrast – two different spots, no crowds, with some magnificent coral and a wide variety of fish in crystal clear water. Our tour leader knew the best spots to see, and was a great guide. There is no point comparing with other major international dive sites. Just enjoy! All the staff were professional, friendly and helpful. A great day out.
My husband and I booked this tour on our recent stay in Koh Samui and we were very impressed by the quality and schedule of the tour. It was one of our favorite things we did on our 11 day trip in Thailand.First, know that this tour is with a large group (maybe 30-40) and that you will be riding in a speedboat with some waves and bumps for up a hour at a time. I am prone to motion sickness, but I kept my eyes on the horizon the whole time and ended up being fine. Others on the boat were not as lucky, but the staff immediately stepped in to give privacy, help, and medication to those feeling ill. If you get motion sickness, it might be wise to take some motion sickness medication prior to this tour.My husband and I were picked up on time and taken to the pier where the tour began. Make sure to bring your ticket and 300baht per person with you because they will check it/collect it during your check in. We waited only a short while for the remainder of the guests to arrive and then boarded the boat.Every stop in the Ang Thong Marine Park was beautiful and very well organized by the tour guides. Every small detail was thought of to create a very fun and easy full day tour of snorkeling, kayaking, hiking and sightseeing. They provided continuous bottles of water throughout the day and fed us fresh fruit to hold us over until our late lunch (around 2pm). Lunch was delicious with a variety of Thai dishes, vegetarian dishes, and some fried chicken and onion rings. The guides were energetic and very passionate about what they did. They would offer to take photos at each stop and were a joy to be around. I would highly recommend this tour!
Overloaded boat, very average snorkelling and huge crowds.Best part of this trip was the climb to the lookout which provided a fabulous view at the peak.
To be fair, we didn’t actually go on our boat tour. It was cancelled. We booked to go on a yacht tour of the Marine Park but because of weather, the company canceled it. We had already paid 9,270THB which is roughly $445AUD. We were told that because the sale had gone through we would have to apply for a refund which would take 7 business days to come back into my account. So we agreed and took photographs of the refund docket and contact details. And thank god we did. 7 days, 14 days, 21 days went by. I contacted the company at 14 days and they were wildly unhelpful. At 21 days I called them using international minutes but I had to know where my money was. Again, little to no help or reply and they were clearly dodging my calls and avoiding helping me. I sent a final email threatening legal action with no reply. I had no choice but to file a payment dispute through commonwealth bank (who were vastly helpful by the way) and within 24 hours I had the money in my account. I found the customer service appalling and would not ever book through them again
