Me, Joyce, Myrna and Leirife had a delightful sail with Captain Bruce and his team with the Da Vinci Catamaran. This luxury sailing yacht glides along the sparkling waters giving us all an outstanding experience. The crew was very accommodating and Captain Bruce gave us short sailing lessons which highlights the whole experience. Visiting Coral Island and ate lunch there was something added on the sailing tour. Thank you so much for the experience. We hope to do it again soon.
We chartered the RENDEVOUS, DaVinci’s newest 13.6 meter Power Catamaran for a 8 day tour leaving Chalong pier in Phuket. A big thank you to the whole DaVinci team for a very well organised and unforgetable experience. Also a big thank you to Julie and Stuart at Sailescapes who did all the bookings and arrangements for us with DaVinci. However, most of the credit must go to Marc, our French captain and Pui, the Thai cook for catering to our needs and providing us a rich experience in terms of navigation, sightseeing, food and drinking. DaVinci asked us our preferences for food and beverages and had arranged for the meals accordingly. The Rendevous boat is new, very modern and sleek design providing lots of space. We were a family of 4, plus the 2 crew members and we were very comfortable during a 8 day/7 night trip. The boat does usually 8-15 knots per hour despite small twin engines so it is perfect if you want to be sure you get to far away places like the Butang Islands group and Koh Lipe, down south next to Langkawi. The Cataraman design also provides alot of stability so we did not suffer any sea-sickness despite some days with waves. Our favorite sights were by far those in the south, ie, the Butang Islands, Koh Rok, Koh Muk and Koh Ha which are far away from the usual Krabi islands and Phi Phi island sights frequented by the noisy longtail boats coming from Phuket or Krabi.
First of all I would like to acknowledge the efficient staff who helped me to decide the best plan for my family cruise, they were highly responsive and made the booking process very easy. About the trip, we cruised in the elegant Davinci Sunseeker s50. It was really a magnificent cruise to Phang Nga bay. absolutely fascinating panoramic views. we passed through several points including the famous James Bond Island. and all of the crew were wonderful and kind especially Captain Chris who gave us very interesting information. All crew did everything at the top to make us feel comfortable during the cruise.we requested for Halal food and it was provided to us and was very delicious and nicely cooked.We all had good time. Thank you Davinci Yacht Charters for this truly luxurious experience.
I chartered a motor cruiser from this company for my husbands birthday and invited 9 friends. Despite paying a very high end price and promises of an excellent day out it turned out awful. Firstly we were sub chartered onto ‘Chokee Dee’ an old reconditioned boat which belched black smoke as we chugged out of Phuket, it then broke down half way to our destination. After running repairs by the crew who were well able to get the ‘good’ engine going again (it had happened before) we ended up at our location which was overcrowded with similar type boats. It was dangerous to snorkel or swim as long tail boats were cutting through the anchorage and there was very little else to do. However as the guys in our party were snorkeling they could see the prop on our boat was tangled with ropes and in order to prevent a breakdown on the return they cut them loose. The only highlight of this day was the crew who were very pleasant but it was not a great way to spend a birthday. I was promised a partial refund when I complained but 7 months later it has never materialised. Be careful using this company.
DaVinci Yacht charters was recommended by a colleague, they are a little more expensive than the others available but you pay for what you get and that is a professionally run charter company that provides excellent service by all the crew, a great Yacht (we had the Lagoon 380) fantastic food and plenty of it. Julie the main contact responded to all emails very quickly, took care of our numerous requests for the children and dietary requirements, could not fault the overall experience.
