Tip-Top Destination is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking 83150, Thailand
The online booking process gave a fair price where you didn’t need to haggle with the street vendors but was a lot cheaper than advertised street prices.Went on a speed catamaran to phi phi islands/ monkey bay and maya beach.Phi phi were a lot more crowded than I had anticipated- getting back to the boat after lunch was a bit of a maze and 2 people got lost, meaning we waited an extra 30 mins finding them. Monkey bay – didn’t allow you to get off the boat due to biting- so took photos from afar. Suited me! Snorkelling was nice. Good to see a few sites, and packed a lot in, but didn’t spend a significant time in any location. Thomas and Honi were good tour guides.Lunch was a bit basic and quite cold, but there was a veggie option. Water/ squash and coke available on board. Some of the toilets in places were dire.
We booked the catamaran speedboat for the Phi Phi-Maya-Khai island tour through PPKK Tour Service, which engaged Tip Top Destination for the tour.I must say that Tip Top Destination’s service was excellent. The boat crew were extremely thoughtful, helping us get on and off the boat/kayak, and cautioned us of dangerous areas to swim (e.g., near rocks). The english-speaking tour guide was entertaining and introduced us to the places of attractions. We visited Pileh Lagoon (to swim, kayak etc.), snorkelled near Ko Phi Phi Le island and then visited the beach at Maya Bay. We had buffet lunch at Koh Phi Phi Don Island before heading to Khai Island. The views were mesmerising, especially at Pileh Lagoon and at where we snorkelled. One of the boatmen even voluntarily helped us take photos and videos for free and guided us during snorkelling as it was our first time! He even showed us the location of nemos in the corals and dived down to help us capture a close-up video of them. The boat crew were extremely reliable and responsible, and we felt very well taken care of throughout the tour. For example at every destination we alighted, the crew made sure to alight with us to show us our meeting point and ensured that we were all gathered back there at the designated time, before bringing us back to our boat.Best of all, their price was extremely reasonable. They even provided free clear kayaks, paddle-board and snorkelling gears for us to use at Pileh Lagoon. Furthermore, free refreshments and drinks were offered to us at every stop and the lunch buffet included in the tour was delicious and generous in portion (it even had halal and vegetarian options!). The boss of Tip Top Destination really did a good job at training its staff, we were extremely impressed by the quality of their service! The tour would not be as fun and enjoyable without such a thoughtful and reliable crew. A small feedback is that I wished we had more time at Pileh Lagoon and more time snorkelling near Ko Phi Phi Le island. Khai Island was too crowded and commercialised, hence I feel that lesser time can be spent there (context: We had equal time at all these stops!)Highly recommend them and will definitely engage them again next time! 🙂
We were welcomed to the main hall where breakfast was served (some cookies and juice). Then the guide started to explain about the tour but it was hard to understand with all the noise around. He recommended buying mouthpieces for the snorkels as they only give you used ones. We bought 5 for 50 bhat each.We got on the ship and as soon as we set sail the crew tried persuading us to book a longtail. They said that we either book (and pay) now or we won’t be able to when we continue. The price is 300 bhat per person if you are in a group of 6 (price was higher if you are under 6 people). We declined. After a while people were trying to form groups for the longtail and we agreed to join them and pay. It means that the crew saying you can only book the longtail at the beginning was a lie, as we booked it almost right before we got to the destination.When we got to the longtail we realized there are about 20 people on it instead of 6 as they cramped all the groups to one. It was too crowded and we decided to cancel.We were promised 7 islands including the monkey island but when we got to it we were told we only have 10 minutes to take pictures and we weren’t even allowed to get off the ship.Throughout the trip they were taking pictures of us that were supposed to be included in the trip (we weren’t supposed to pay extra for them to send us the pictures). When the trip ended they showcased framed images for us to buy. We wanted to buy 2 only but we’re surprised when they told us we have to buy 5 (1 for each family member) for them to be able to send us the rest of the pics by email. We had to pay extra 1,000 just for them to send us pictures that were supposed to be included.All in all the trip was nice. The islands are beautiful, the launch was alright and we had some great pics too.Sadly it felt way too much as a tourist trap, as we had to pay extra for mouthpieces, a trip on a crowded longtail, images that were supposed to be included.Would not recommend this company.
