Good place to visit Elephant attraction and you can feeding elephant, bathing with elephant and you can walking to the beach with elephant
Friendly staffs and Elephants. Good experience in Thailand to feeding and bathing with elephant. it’s open everyday.
Feeding the elephants is very fun. The elephant is big but kind and can be touched and photographed very beautifully. It is a suitable place for children and families.
It was a great experience! Not a crowded tourist attraction but a very private walk with the elephant to bathe in the river! Very individual. Great care! Afterwards we were given a fresh coconut! There is also a taxi service here, which we were happy to use. Very punctual and reliable!!!!
I would highly recommend a visit to the coconut elephant camp. We were staying at the Beyond resort on Panweep beach which is about a 15 minute pleasant walk along the beach then on a small road .This is a small but , in my eyes, perfect little sanctuary. There are 2 elephants both recently rescued (although my understanding is that the owner pays a monthly lease to make sure they remain safe ).I was privileged to spend 2 lovely hours first feeding, then walking with one of the elephants down to a creek where l helped the trainer to give him a good bath . My elephant loved it and looked contented and relaxed throughout the experienceI was fortunate to be the only person there at the time and the owner accompanied me the whole time taking time and great care to explain everything to me and to make sure this was a truly wonderful and authentic experience.I would highly recommend this venue to anyone in the area. The taxi from koah lak is about 300 baht each way , the whole experience cost me about £30 English .These wonderful animals look well cared for and contented and l can’t thank the camp enough for the wonderful experience they gave me
Coconut Elephant Camp was the highlight of our trip. Panom, their elephant, is a wonderful animal. We ‘stumbled’ across their place and so glad we did. We fed Panom bananas at the beginning and end of our visit. We walked Panom to a nearby river and hopped in with him to give him a scrub. The path to the river was tranquil, paused at a temple on the way, staff stopped and picked mangosteen fruit for us to eat. There didn’t seem to be any time pressure, we were ready to head back before Panom. The staff were fantastic, taking many photos and videos from two devices. They were happy to answer our many questions.I felt Panom was well looked after by the family and I’d consider this an authentic place to visit.I’d thoroughly recommend spending time here and would go back again.
Upon visiting Coconut Elephant Camp, we were immediately struck by the conditions in which the elephants were kept. The two elderly residents had a limited space, tethered with short ropes that clearly didn’t meet their needs. Despite receiving a warm welcome and engaging in activities like feeding and swimming with the elephants, our concern for their well-being lingered. The path to the watering point wound through a monastic area, raising questions about the animals’ accessibility to essential resources. It was disheartening to observe some visitors focused solely on capturing selfies while neglecting the elephants’ welfare. This experience underscored the urgent need for greater awareness and responsibility regarding animal care.
