I trained Muay Thai for a month in Rawai Supa Muay Thai. The trainers are friendly and technically very good. The gym is always clean and tidy.
We visited Supa Muay for two weeks of Thai boxing training,My first impression of the camp was that it was very clean and tidy the training was excellent. They cater for all levels from someone who has been doing it for years ( myself ) to complete beginners ( my Girlfriend ). It has a large gym area with four full size boxing rings, a large matted area with 12 punch bags, a cross fit machine and weights area. Western boxing was on the timetable as well as yoga, it also has a fully equipped shop with all the equipment and refreshments, Most of the equipment ie gloves are £20-30 pounds cheaper than buying them at home.I was most impressed with the amount of trainers taking the morning and afternoon classes, you always had a trainer to do pad work with you were never left to train on your own there were always trainers watching over you making sure your technique was correct, all had a good level of English and were very clear when explaining drills always laughing joking and smiling.I can highly recommend Supa it was that good we’re hoping to go back next year.
This is our 10th time to phuket and decided to train at a new environment instead of soi taied. Came upon supa website. Easy to understand n ok price. Bked for 2 wks stay w training. Decided to just try out 1 wk first n it was the best decision ever made.Cons:1. Reception girl was v rude. Nt what we expect in thai ppl so 1st impression failed.2. Bked a supa deluxe bungalow and wasnt expecting much bt the reality was the worst we cld imagine. V badly maintained. Thick dust everywhr. We found lizards n roaches everyday n the hygience level seems non existance. Door lock was faulty and takes forever to lock every day. at 5000B a week, none of the above should happened. 3. Training was underwhelming considering thrs more than 10 trainers. No technical guidance nthing. “Best” part was most of the trainers looked like they cant wait for it to be over. 5 rounds of pad wrk. 5 rounds of shawdow n bam! Done. Perfect if u are thr just for fun. With muay thai camps being rampant all over phuket, this was really pretty bad and i wont be back.
This is a great gym, well kept, clean, friendly and professional, caters for western boxing style as well as Muay Thai….Skilled Coaching…..and attentive to student, very recommended!
If you are interested in training and watching May Thai practice this is the place to visit in Rawal
My fourth visit now and although only a short one, I loved every minute. There’s no doubt the gym eqipment needs a serious overhall and update. Most of it has been there since my first visit, 8 years ago, but the trainers, particularly Keh, Eid and Joey are supportive and welcoming and it doesn’t matter whether you are there to train to fight, for general fitness or just to try it out, the trainers provide you with their knowledge and skill. Its fun and I’ll continue to go there until I physically can’t any more.
Fantastic Thai gym and very welcoming, got some great training from Bom who was great but also made it fun for my family, gave me some great tips. Equipment was spot on and can’t recommend enough. If just training just the once or many times it’s a great gym for all levels of Muay Thai
I’ve been there only for one training. First impression was good, everyone was friendly and I enjoyed my 5 rounds padwork. The trainer was one of my favourite on this 1 month Thailand vacation and I tried around 7 different gyms. Best price around Rawai.
We went to two drop-in classes, one in the afternoon at th gym and another in the morning on the beach. Neither of us had any prior Muay Thai experience, but that wasn’t a problem. The coaches are very professional and great at teaching on the side while giving instructions to the group. We felt very welcome and had a hell of a workout 💪 the gym session was more about sparring and teaching technique, and the beach session was more cardio heavy.
Some friends and I from my kickboxing club decided to go to Thailand and try Muay Thai and we choose Kingka as their website appealed to us.Coming there the first day was a positive experience, the receptionist was very warm and friendly. The typical Muay Thai session begun with running and soft stretching followed by a couple of rounds of shadowing. After that it was a couple of pad rounds and then some bagwork. Some sessions included technique training or sparring. Our overall experience was very pleasant. The head coach spoke good English and the Kru’s was good at adjust to your skill level. All the coaches was very friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed yet professional. One of the trainers also helped us get discounted tickets to local fight, which was very much appreciated. This review would be a solid five if the fans where better and if the sessions was more varied. We would however come back again.
