One thing I do not like and that is when I know I’m getting ripped off for not being a Thai, to enter this place the Thais only pay 200 Baht but me being a foreigner they wanted me to pay 6 times more, I do not recommend this joint
If you haven’t been yet on a Friday or Saturday night at a Muay Thai boxing match at the Lumpini stadium (but should) in Bangkok, maybe you should try a less expensive, but still culturally interesting, much smaller place to see some Thai boxing before going back home-
Exciting fights were on display with energetic fighters. I train Muay Thai myself but I was impressed with the skills of some of these guys. The admission fee is reasonable for the entertainment you get. I was asked for a tip at the end of the night by one of the staff but that was the only small negative of the evening, it would not hold me back of going again.
This is the place to watch some real good Muay Thai boxing. They had a good line up with some foreign and Thai boxers. Plenty of action during the fights. We saw 4 fights in different weight categories and only one of them was a bit boring. Great place to visit.
The Rawai Boxing Stadium is a real large Boxing Stadium with many people that come from all over the world. They train hard to be the best boxing player.
What a place filled with lots of energy. if your manage to have an asian look and have a friend in phuket then you will not spend much for the tickets.
If you like Thai Boxing this is the place. Eight fights are on starting with the children, which are around ten years old. Working up to championship fights of both men and woman. A must see!
Boxing but not as you know it. Just went for the sparring and training sessions, which was enough. Very energetic and has a fanatical following.
Never having been to any kind of boxing contest, this was high on my list of things to experience this week. I recommend paying the slight premium for the platinum seats which means you are collected from your hotel and given a great vantage point by the ring. Billed as an international contest we were due to see 8 fights with contestants from as far apart as USA and Russia. The evening kicked off (sic) with a babyweight fight between two local youths. Despite their tender age it was still a full on experience. Then came a ladies fight and so the evening built up. I believe there was a way of betting on the outcome but I didn’t find it. I did find the bar however and became aquainted with Thai whiskey. Loud, exciting and fun . Thoroughly recommended for the whole family
