  1. My wife and I decided to try Lek’s cooking class, at the recommendation of Jonathon from the Family House Zen Hotel. The class included a trip to the market with Lek where we learned about the local produce and were introduced to many previously unidentified fruits and vegetables. Seeing we were intrigued, Lek purchased three types of the local fruits and served us them at the end of the class. The best part of the class was meeting Lek. Not only is she a great cook, but also a wonderful person. Since then we have already showed off and prepared two Thai meals for the family from the recipe book we got as part of the class. A highly enjoyable 3-4 hours, at a very reasonable cost, considering you eat what you cook.

  2. My class with Lek was a great experience. Lek is very warm and charming and made the class go so smoothly. I have taken other classes around Thailand – in Chiang Mai and Bangkok – and this one stuck out for being so quick (3 hours), so simple and it was also the cheapest. Class sizes are kept to a maximum of 4, which was really nice. And the menu is pretty customizable so I could ask for specific dishes. Highly recommended.

  3. just went there and asked, they told us they quit doing the cooking class! but very delicious food in the restaurant!

  4. Was just here a few days ago and my girlfriend and I took the cooking class with Lek. The class consisted of just us 2, with the maximum of 4 people. We selected, Pad Thai, Pad Khra Pao and Green Curry to cook. She’s such a fun person to hang out with, very well at communicating and curious about various walks of life. She started us out in the market explaining the ingredients, where to get them and even had us tasting some of them. She made the class so understandable, straight forward, we felt like master chefs at the end of it. Being non cookers, we felt like we definitely can consistently make Thai dishes at home, bringing home one of the most valuable things from this country! We got to enjoy our meals, had some mangosteens at the end and ate the rest of the food the entire day.Thank you Lek!

  5. I highly recommend taking this cooking class. It was really enjoyable, teaching and fun (and of course very delicious). Lek is such a nice person and great teacher. Even my partner who wasn’t into the idea of taking a cooking class enjoyed it very much.

  6. We felt so welcome, Lek is really really nice and took her time to answer all our questions. When we asked for a cooking class, she offered one right on the next day (costs 750 baht per person). The little trip to the market was informative (you don’t buy there anything, Lek has the ingredients already prepared at the kitchen). We loved that the ” group maximum” is four persons. You are free make the food your own style with different extra vegetables, chillies and different amounts of the seasonings. Loved it and would recommend it 🙂

  7. We learnt to cook three meals each that we could choose individually. First a short and informative trip to the market round the corner, this authentic and really helped to understand the key ingredients of the Thai cuisine. Lek adapted the course to accommodate everyones dietary preferences and the food and techniques were explained in a fun and relaxed way.I highly recommend this course and was very impressed by the small group and comprehensive detail of the day.Thank you Lek!!

  8. We had a dinner there while visiting Pai. We opened a table with a lot of local dishes and soups. Every dish was a success. I would specially recommend the coconut soup and the Pad Thai.

  9. Lek is the most wonderful teacher (and person!) with a great sense of humour, incredible patience and a real talent for cooking and teaching. We had the best day in Pai learning about Thai cuisine and cooking our own delicious dishes. Lek was so accommodating of dietary requirements and us being slow choppers! The rest of the group were also really fun to be around and it added to the experience, being able to meet new people from around the world who share a love of cooking. My boyfriend and I perfected three dishes: morning glory, pad Thai and massaman curry. Because you are given free reign of your dishes, ours looked and tasted so different! For 750 baht you cannot go wrong – your experience of Pai will be missing something huge if you choose not to go to Lek’s cooking school!

  10. We booked for a cooking class after eating at Charlie & Leo’s amazing restaurant! What a fantastic day! We chose 3 dishes from a condensed menu, we chose Tom Yum Soup, Pad Thai and Massaman Curry. Lek took us to the local market and taught us all about the ingredients going into the dishes. We then made the soup, ate & rested, pad Thai, ate & rested, and finally made the massaman curry. We’ve got many doggy bags to take home because it is A LOT of food! Lek’s English and teaching is amazing, she made sure we constantly tried our cooking throughout the lesson to see how ingredients changed the dish. 100% recommend, 750bhat for a group 1000bhat for a private lesson. Great quality ingredients, great teacher and so much food. Want to have another class here.
