We had a wonderful time during our visit. The picked us up at our AirBnB on time and in an air conditioned van. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the super friendly staff who spoke english and made us feel comfortable. The elephants themselves are very well cared for and fed. We did various activities and took some of the best pictures ever. At lunch time, there was a buffet of food back at the base camp which was really good. After a 1 hour break, we went back out for some more activities and at exactly the time they said we would finish, we did. They drove us back to our Airbnb. I highly recommended them for anyone looking to visit an elephant sanctuary. Thank you for the great experience.
By far, my favorite experience in Thailand so far. We had a private driver take us to the elephant sanctuary where we had a tour of the facility; fed the elephants; learned about their previous experiences and got to spend time in the water with them. They are truly majestic and their caretakers and guides are wonderful. I highly recommend spending the day and time on this excursion.
The Elephant Care Sanctuary in Kanchanaburi was my favorite thing I did in Thailand. I participated in the full-day excursion and had private transportation to and from my hotel in Bangkok. We learned about the elephants at the sanctuary, fed them, and bathed them in the river which was a magical experience. The lunch provided was also delicious with amazing views. The elephants are so well taken care of and very happy and you have plenty of time to interact with them. I highly recommend a trip to the Elephant Care Sanctuary in Kanchanaburi!!
This was hands down the best experience I had in Thailand! I booked the full day tour with pickup in Bangkok. The driver was punctual and we stopped once in each direction at a rest stop. The drive was about 3 hours from Bangkok to the sanctuary (but absolutely worth it!). The sanctuary doesn’t have walls or a fence to keep the elephants in, the elephants roam freely (each has their own elephant keeper who watches them closely). I had a wonderful time feeding the elephants watermelon, sugar cane, and banana-rice balls! It was super cool washing the elephants in the river, and I really appreciated that I could shower afterwards at their facility. Definitely bring yellow bananas if you can, the elephants were very excited with anyone with extra tasty snacks! I really appreciated the tour guide for our group, he knew so much about elephants and about the sanctuary. I would fly back to Thailand just to go to Elephant World! I would also recommend bringing hand sanitizer with you, it wasn’t always possible to wash your hands every time you fed or pet the elephants.
This was the best part of my trip to Bangkok. We were collected promptly at 9am and it took about 3 hours to drive to the sanctuary. We arrived and had some lunch and then were given the opportunity to feed the elephants, we were then taken to a different part of the sanctuary to make rice balls and feed them and then went to the river to play with them. The staff were amazing, they were so knowledgeable and helpful and told us all about the history of the elephants, their ages and their personalities. It was a very special experience, the staff should be highly commended for their work.
Amazing experience, definitely a must do if you’re in Bangkok for a few days! Our tour guide Mai was really friendly. We did the full day tour and you get to feed the elephants watermelons, you get to take photos with the elephants, and prepare other foods for them such as sticky rice balls. After the Thai buffet lunch you get to swim in the river with them and scrub them. Very memorable day out and worth the money!
On Sat, 10 Aug 2024, My friend and I booked the afternoon tour of the Elephant sanctuary on Tuesday 30/07/2024.From the moment our Driver Sirisak Srisongkow (Siri) picked us up we knew it would be a great day His humour and smiles got us off to a great start and his passion for the job and local knowledge was the icing on the cake as he pointed out and spoke about different areas of interest on our journey to and from the sanctuary. He also stayed with us for the whole day, looking after us with cold water and making sure he got some amazing photos and video footage for us.On arrival at the sanctuary we were greeted by our guide Mama who got us settled in with a locker and lunch, ran us through the safety briefing and then had us straight into the afternoons activities. If you are lucky enough to have Mama as your guide you will have a wonderful experience.Interacting with the elephants was amazing and everything I had hoped for. It was the best day. Emotional and very fulfilling, so thank you.Philippa FlemingAn absolute once in a life time experience. Thank you for the opportunity to spend time with these amazing creatures. Your staff were incredible. Our guide was attentive and informative. We had the most amazing driver, Siri. He has an amazing gift with photography. I saw elephants in the wild in Kenya which was superb, but this is the first time up close and it was truly heart-warming. They are so well looked after that they took us rookies easily in their stride, and let us stroke, feed, mud-massage and scrub them. Our guide Mai was informative and helpful, anticipating the good photo ops. Shower to freshen up, and a delicious lunch. It took 2 and a half hours to get there – totally worth it. Wow.
