  1. Had a few very nice dives. Crew is very relaxed, very friendly, attentative and concerned for safety. Pure fun.

  2. During my recent stay on Ko Chang I decided to give scuba diving a try and to complete the two-days PADI Scuba Diver brevet. I chose Eco-Divers mainly because it was the diving center closest to my hotel, but I couldn’t be happier with my choice. It is a great place to learn scuba diving, and my instructor Olivier was both easy-going and competent. So if you want to learn scuba diving and you’re staying on Khlong Prao beach, go no further – this is a great place to learn diving.Merci!

  3. Eco divers provided an excellent service – picking us up from our Hotel in Kai Bae, providing good pre-dive briefings, good equipment and a nice lunch to re-fuel in between dives. We are relatively novice divers and the instructor (Pern) was very good – explaining the dive sites, running through equipment set up and running through refresher training. This really helped us relax into the dives and get maximum enjoyment from our time underwater.Thank you for a good day out diving.

  4. worst day diving ever, french connection,ok,if not you spend your day alone, even the manager don t speak english, and of course prefer to stay with woman.lunch and equipment ok.to enjoy there other shop on the island, not recomended

  5. Originally we wanted to go with Scuba Dawgs, but we couldn’t reach them so we chose the next company on the list; Eco- Divers. We took our diving certificates 1,5 years ago and haven’t been diving since, so we asked if we could have our own instructor to feel comfortable. We also expressed it would be good with a little refresher on the safety checks and such. But the french divemaster said that it was a super-easy dive (not knowing anything about our experience) and that it wouldn’t be a problem for us to join the group of 3, which would make it a group of 5 in total excluding the divemaster (!). We were hesitant but decided to go with. They picked us up at the hotel and we went for fitting. They fitted my boyfriend, and then the french divemaster (who was the one we discussed the dive with) just chucked in a snorkel and fins for me. I asked if I shouldn’t fit a bcd and wetsuit, and he said that I was just going to snorkel, right? I said no, didn’t he remember yesterday when we made the booking? Oh right, sorry, ok, let’s get you fitted too. When it was time to prep our equipment we were unsure of some details with the tubes, and asked for help by an Eco-divers guy. He looked sulky and just pointed at stuff, and when I didn’t understand what he meant (as he didn’t speak) he yanked the connecter out of my hands and did it for me and left without saying a word. I guess that was the “refresher”.Then it was time for the dive, and lo and behold, the group was now 6 people + the divemaster. This was being communicated when we’ve already been on the boat for 1,5 hours and are well out on the ocean, so there’s really no way to cancel the booking at this point. We have our dive, which was ok, and then it was time for lunch. They had forgotten to arrange vegetarian food for me, which I had requested when booking, and which wasn’t a problem then. But now I sat there with a profusely apologizing french dive master and a bowl of rice. Great lunch. He pulled out some carrots (which I don’t care for) from the meaty curry and put them on my plate. Because you know, all vegetarians love all kinds of vegetables, especially the ones that have been bathing in meat juice. Hooray for rice with carrots, so nutritious and yummy. After a long while it was time for dive two, and we saw a bluespotted stingray, which was great, but in general it was crowded and hard to see what the divemaster pointed to, and other than a few sights it wasn’t a particular good dive. When we had finished our second dive we had to wait for several hours before returning home, because some had booked 3 dives, and they also held a diving course for a couple of people. We left our hotel at 8am and weren’t back until 6pm, so it took a full day to have two mediocre dives. This might be common practice, but we weren’t informed, so it was a surprise to us that we wouldn’t be back until so late. When departing from the boat, the divemaster informed us that if we wanted to we could give the boat guys some tip for helping out, as if this wasn’t included in the price. All in all it was a pretty crappy experience and I would recommend anyone who values safety and nice to choose another company.

  6. On the advice of our resort concierge, we went out as snorkelers on an Eco-Diver full-day dive trip. We knew that we would be going to dive sites with perhaps less-than-the-best snorkeling available. Because our concierge had personally gone out with them as a snorkeler a few days before, we decided to go ahead. From a pure snorkeling point of view, the rating is 4 out of 5. However, several divers on our trip would have given a full 5 of 5 rating. This is a French operation, as mentioned by a previous reviewer. We speak very little French but still managed to have a good day. When we weren’t talking with Fabrice (our leader), we visited with other tourists on the trip from France and Switzerland. A solo diver who does not speak French may very well feel left out.On our particular day, we went to two locations. The first had some very good snorkeling. We were able to swim completely around a small rock outcrop and observe several thousand fish, plus urchins, sea cucumbers, and, of course, all kinds of coral. The water was clear to perhaps 8 meters. The second location featured more turbulence and thus less visibility. Again, we could swim around the rock outcrop, but chose to double back on the one due to a stronger current. The rest of the day not in the water was spent relaxing on the boat, sharing experiences with others, and enjoying the open water. There was plenty of water and soft drink available, as well as hot food and fresh fruit.

  7. since 2 years I dive at koh chang, mostly with eco divers. new changes in management, staff, activities. now, it becomes a true diving club.. diving spirit. more service, respect of customer.s

  8. I travel solo most of the time and this trip was no exception. I took my open water dive course with Eco Divers – it was just a random choice, one i do not regret at all. I was taught by an English speaking Russian gentlman (Alex)who knew his diving ever so well and had an amazing passion for it. I’m sure his passion rubbed on to me too. Considering i was so far away from home i was a wee bit afraid of anything going wrong but all that fear soon dissappeared and i felt reassured that i was safe. He also had a bit of a hard time teaching me about the diving tables but the man did not give up teaching me them. I passed my OW course and then went diving with the French. No, i do not speak a word of french but so many of the divers i met made the effort to converse with me and were so friendly. The instuctor we had (Fabrice) again had an amazing passion for diving and knew his underwater world very very well. (If any one has ever watched little mermaid – fabrice reminded me of King Triton King of the underwater world). He was amazingly comfortable underwater.Among the dives after i passed was the HMS Chang – (only the outside) exellent experience and id love to that again. I did not get to go in the wreck because i had only just found my sea legs but i hope when i return i would be able to complete that. All the staff were very helpful from the lady at the reception (Tu) to the boat captain and his helpers. I intend to return there to do some more diving in the near future and hopefully have my 100th dive there too.Taught by a Russian perfected by a French. ☺Highly recommended. X x x Chi ???

  9. This is a fantastic dive company – family run by the very unique and charming Fabrice, his lovely partner Alexandria and their great support team and crew. We originally planned to only have 4 dives with them but had such a great time we had 6 dives altogether. We dived the HTMS CHANG wreck twice and around one of the many coral reef islands several times – one of which was a night dive.We were very impressed with the professional approach of the team but also the focus on safety. The pre-dive safety briefs were very well conducted and Fabrice made damn sure everyone paid attention and understood all aspects of the dive. Equipment was well maintained and in excellent condition. The boat facilities were very good – the onboard freshly cooked lunches were delicious and plentiful.Fabrice and Alexandria were always very attentive and made sure to point out any interesting undersea flora and fauna. The wreck dive was simply spectacular – absolutely breathtaking and visibility was 25 to 30 Metres!!Alex was dive master for our friends’ son who was a recently qualified diver at the time, took the time and effort to explain all the features of dive sites and provided reassurance regarding safety whenever it was needed. It is a company with a passion for diving which is more than obvious from the care and enthusiasm of the staff and we hope to dive with them again one day.

  10. I would have liked to have recommended the one man show, which is what Ecodivers seems to be at this moment, but I cannot. We dove every dive on Scandinavian Diving Center Koh Chang`s boats, and member of our group said that for the past three months she had been diving off Scandinavian’s boats despite going out with Ecodivers. This seemed odd so I investigated why and have been told Ecodivers’ boat sank recently and there has been some legal trouble with the company. Despite what we were told, as newly certified divers, we were happy to have Fabrice instruct us one on one for our first dive day.. He was not a great instructor—controlling under water and unclear during debriefs (not a great way to build skills and improve). He has decades of dive experience, his comfort and buoyancy in the water are inspiring, he knows the sites, but his communication skills need work. I recommend going with another company.
