Central Plaza Chonburi is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking 55/88-89 Moo 1, Sukhumvit Road, 20000, Thailand
We have often popped into this mall en route to between Pattaya and Bangkok. As with most ‘upcountry’ Central Plaza, this has a Robinson Department store as an anchor not a Central Department store but unlike other ‘upcountry’ Central Plaza’s this has a wide range of stores and restaurants and successful acts as the only ‘western’ style retailer in Chonburi city.
Numerous visits March 2017Central Plaza is about 3km outside Chon Buri City and is easy to get to as it is on the route for the red songthaew (or baht Bus).There is a Robinsons Department store, a supermarket and various specialty stores (which aren’t that cheap) and my wife and I can certainly recommend the massages on the ground floor. There are also market stalls in front of the Centre on weekendsThe top floor of “Central Plaza” is dedicated to restaurants (many of which are Japanese) and a “SF Cinema Complex”.Haven’t been to a Thai cinema? Do yourself a favour and give it a go. The Cinema complex has a least one of its cinemas per day showing films in English with Thai subtitles. These are all latest releases and we saw “Logan” and “Kong: Skull Island”. The cinemas are modern, have great sound systems, cool (take a light jacket just in case) and have “Sofa Class”. This literally consists of about 5 x 2 seat sofas (a proper reclining sofa with no arm rest between the two occupants) at the rear of the cinema and will set you back about THB 250 (AUD 10) for two people or 300 THB on weekends. Cheap, very comfortable and some of the best popcorn we have ever tasted. Don’t forget to stand when a dedication to the King is shown just before the movie starts. Because the movies are in English you shouldn’t need to book and can just buy your tickets over the counter. Both times my wife and I were the only ones sitting in the “expensive” seats
Returned to this lovely shopping centre on a Thursday morning to find virtually every car parking space taken … yet once we found one, virtually nobody shopping!!Need to sort out their priorities!!!
Large western style mall with about 3 floors of shopping. Supermarket in the basement & a couple 60 Baht Japanese store, also a large cell phone/electronics area, also pharmacies & other good. Great place to stock up, also have food court, can get there by the Baht bus from the beach.
Very good parking facilities indoor or outside. The staff were helpful and friendly. There are many fine shops and restaurants for all.
Have been to many malls over over Thailand and this is much the same as all the others, nice parking and a wide range of shops and eating places…. if your in need of a shopping or eating fix then a few hours looking round here will do the trick.
I have family in Chon Buri and they all come here. Many shops, great variety in produce and food. Big parking house and acces with Songteaw taxi just outside. It doesn`t stand out from other central plaza malls, but you can get most of what you need here. I am not big on shopping malls, but this one I like, not too busy.
A very peaceful and high-quality air-conditioned mall. Some electronics, clothing, nice variety of food offering. A very good grocery store. When we visited it was quite quiet.
It’s a big and contemporary mall, well designed, nice to hang out and take refuge from the blistering daytime heat outside…here the airco is cool, the wifi free, the toilets clean…and a ton of food outlets, you won’t go hungry here!
