  1. Now called the Small Bar.Hippy style with recycled items hanging from the ceiling.Stumbled upon this little gem while out walking.Drinks reasonably priced, service excellent.Wooden puzzle games and Connect 4 available for entertainment.

  2. We found the place by luck , just walking down the street. Kaye the owner and Alex her BF are so amazing cool welcoming people. If you had a chance to be in Panwa you should stop and try the special cocktails she have there Especially the “Banana F**K”.

  3. We were taken to Small Place by Max, owner of Siam Sailing. We didn’t know we were going and had left all our belongings- shoes, phones AND money on the sailboat we rented from him. He urged us to hop into the sidecar on his amazingly rickety but seemingly reliable motorbike, and off we went. I was delighted to see that it was exactly my vibe- looked a bit like my house- quirky, eclectic, intimate, great lighting. The owner, Gay, was very sweet and welcoming. Before too long we were joined by several expats who congregated around Max. I played Jenga with Max’s fiery and mysterious girlfriend Jep, and at one point I rescued a tiny crying kitten from the dark overgrown vegetation across the street, which Gay kindly adopted and I heard she decided to call it Ashley, after me. This was a great night, so much fun. An interesting crowd frequents Little Place and if you see a wild haired blonde Dutch man, ask if his name is Max and if so, buy him a drink and tell him you read about him here. You are guaranteed to have a blast. And say hi to Gay and little Ashley, too! Definitely go!

  4. Have been there twice during our stay and was really amazing. Small, will say a kind of family atmosphere. Drinks were not expensive compared to the hotel and the owner were really nice.

  5. I thought I wrote a review of Small Place already, turns out I hadn’t! I was taken here by Max of Siam Sailing and his lovely partner. I didn’t know the name of it, didn’t know where I was going, either. Just got in their sidecar with no shoes or money (it was all on the sailboat) and had such a nice time. Played Jengga with some locals, chatted with expats, and rescued a tony kitten across the road in a dark jungly patch that the owner Gay kindly kept and cared for. I heard she named her after me. It’s a funky spot, a lively and friendly bunch, and Gay is an awesome hostess to all her guests. I hope to be visiting again in September!

  6. Yes it is a small place, looks a little unkempt and you could easily walk by but …Good variety of drinks, good prices and funky surroundings. What’s not to like? Give it a try.

  7. This place would actually take “hole in the wall” as a compliment. They serve drinks & that’s it. No snacks. The decor is haphazard at best, nightmarish at worst. The background music would set the tone for whether you decide to stay for another drink. When we initially decided to stop in, there was Reggae playing. That turned out to be a good evening. The very next evening, the owner was playing an off-key karaoke sounding dude when we arrived. We were the only ones there, so after about 3 slit-your-wrists songs, I asked if she could change the music to some Jazz. She was not pleased. She let the off-key dude sing another song before switching over to 1930’s Speakeasy tunes. Either she didn’t know what Jazz is or she passive aggressively was telling us to bugger off.

  8. I recently travelled to Phuket with my best friend and we stumbled across this little gem which is a stones throw away from the Amatara wellness resort where we were staying. It didn’t look like much from the outside but when we got talking to the owner we discovered that she had spent more than 9 years collecting washed up plastic from the beaches and recycling it to create this ambient space. Amazing creativity and skills so impressed! The cocktails were cheap and very tasty and the service and kindness of the owner made us feel like we were at home from home. This is a place I will hold close to my heart. Happy holiday memories. Thank you!

  9. Want to have a great cocktail made by a chill and laid back lady. This is the place to go. Was a bit hesitant in going in there because of the quirky design. But my girlfriend convinced me otherwise. After taking a sip of the cocktail I did not regret it one bit. After having had bad cocktails at several 5 star hotels it was breath of fresh air. Perfectly mixed with cool beatz playing in the background. This is a proper hole in the wall. Btw this place is called small bar instead of small place. Go check it out. Nice array of cocktails advise the pina colada and 1425 cocktail.
