A great bar on Panwa seafront opens around sunset time till late. Friendly hosts, Russell and Arissa and Barman Fluck, make sure you have a wonderful evening. Great selection of drinks, nice bar, and always a great night.

We loved Russell Sunset Bar, great little spot in Cape Panwa. We loved watching the little bustling streets, with street food vendors where our kids spent most afternoons buying snacks whilst we sat and drank. Russell, Arissa and Flook were great hosts. The Bar also has board games for our kids to play, great spot for family, don’t find many bars in Phuket that are family friendly. Russell, Arissa and Flook were so friendly that we ended up spending most of our nights drinking there. They even drove us back to our hotel at the end of the night on a few occasions even thought we were only staying a short distance away. They really care about the safety of their customers which is a rarity. We loved chatting and getting to know them and some of the other customers. And they gave us great tips on places to visit in Phuket, thanks Russell, Arissa and Flook. All in all, it was a great little addition to our lovely holiday. Our first time visiting Russel Sunset Bar was just at the end of Covid in April 2022. We were staying in Cape Panwa Hotel and wandered into the bar to be greeted with smiles all around. It very quickly became our local for the holiday. The atmosphere there is great – you come back from your day trips or relaxing day on the beach, Russel and Arissa are just such lovely people that they make you feel right at home. Before you know it, hours have passed by and you’ve spent the evening having an absolute laugh with either Russel, Arissa or other holidaymakers. At the beginning of the year we decided on visiting Phuket again and chose to stay in Cape Panwa so we could be close to the Sunset Bar, and our experience reaffirmed that we had made the right decision. We’ve gone home with more good memories, more good friendships and a stronger connection with everyone from Russel Sunset Bar.Speaking of which – the drinks are incredibly reasonably priced, the street food vendors are within spitting distance from the bar and you may be lucky enough to be allowed to bring some of the food back to your table. Sure, you could go to some massive bar in Patong, but if you’re looking for a bar where the staff will remember you every time you visit – this is the one.By the way, I recommend the caipirinha!

Great little bar. Staff are brilliant. Very helpful and so so nice. Go in for 1 drink but can’t help having 4 or 5. Must visirlt if in the area .

Good vibes, good music, nice cocktails and ice cold beer. The sunset is beautiful from the bar. The place is cozy and clean and the staff are the sweetest and friendliest people. We went to the bar several nights during our visit in the Panwa area of Phuket, and absolutely loved it there. We would love to visit the bar again on our next visit to Phuket.🩷
Great bar & lovely atmosphere. Russell & Arisha are wonderful hosts with excellent service. The cocktails are great Mai Thai my favourite. Prices very reasonable, lots of fans to keep you cool. Great way to meet fellow holiday makers which Russell often introduces you to, to share experiences & tips of things to do & places to eat from the many restaurants close by. Would definitely recommend a visit or two.
