I had loads of fun at Ning’s cooking class today. She taught us how to make all sorts of Thai dishes and they were vegan as well! I’d never taken a cooking class before so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect but I am so very glad I went.If you want to learn to make some of your favorite Thai dishes with a vegetarian/vegan twist, this is your place.
Ning is great! Such a great personality. She’s so helpful and passionate. Food is delicious and I can’t get over how much of it there was!! It was a really fun class. Worth it!
Great vegan cooking school in Chiangmai, definitely come back next time!Thank you for the awesome cooking experience!
Overall enjoyable experience but if you want to learn Thai cuisine, not the best place to go. You only get to do the finishing of already semi-prepared dishes, and use some industrial powders and sauces in the process. Nice setting for a social meal and much appreciated that all was vegetarian, if not vegan.
We spent a fabulous 3 hours with Ning learning how to cook various Thai dishes. All were amazing, we learnt a lot , and I as a chef got a few tips from Ning about various ingredients. Don’t eat before you go as you get to eat what you’ve cooked. 5?
It was a wonderful afternoon spent learning to cook some of my favorite Thai dishes. Ning is a good teacher and the experience was great fun. There were nine of us from 4 different countries but we all got by with English. Highly recommend it! Be sure NOT to eat beforehand and you’ll be so full you may want to skip dinner.
Ning’s cooking class was everything we could’ve asked for! All of the produce used was fresh and so tasty. Be sure to go hungry as you have 5 courses and make a lot!! But not to worry if not as can take it away 🙂 you also get a book with the recipes in which is helpful. Recommend this to anyone looking for a cooking class even if not vegetarian or vegan!
We had a great time cooking and speaking with Ning. If you want something fun and to leave feeling very full (unless you want to take it takeaway), then this is the place to go.
We spent a wonderful afternoon with Ning learning about Thai vegetarian cooking. As a non-vegetarian I was keen to learn how to cook new dishes for my vegetarian friends and family members.I searched Tripadvisor and Ning’s Kitchen looked ideal, so I checked her website which is really informative. The classes are small-group starting at 12:30pm and running for about 3 hours which seemed to fly by. We each learned to cook 5 courses, with 3 choices per course. Each person selects their own menu. There were four of us in the class and we cooked a variety of dishes.Ning is a long time vegetarian and provides excellent instruction. Before we started she checked everyone’s allergies and food preferences (vegetarian/vegan).First off was a curry (red, green or masaman) all were really good and the heat could be adjusted for personal taste.Next was the soup course. The standout here was the Khao Soi with noodles.Srir fry came next with most opting for the Classic Pad Thai, a perfect balance of flavours and textures. The fourth course was the appetizers with most opting for the fresh spring rolls. We made a delicious peanut sauce to accompany the spring rolls. Finally, we made dessert with mango and sticky rice or banana and sticky rice.Ning was an excellent instructor and had lots of patience for our class of mixed experience. She really is a beautiful soul. The classes are targetted at cooking for anyone, including total beginners, as well eating. Everyone gets a very professionally printed mini cookbook with instruction and images of every item so no need to write notes. All the preparation is done before our arrival. This class may not be for you if you want to get up early and visit the market to buy the produce. Equally, this is not for someone who likes cleaning up after cooking. There is a lovely lady who works with Ning cleaning up and washing the pots etc.I would serious advise arriving hungry, as there is a lot of food, and it is all delicious. Ning provides takeaway containers for each person to take their extra food away.In summary, everyone had a fun afternoon. The venue is in a covered area that is part of a garden where I guess some of the herbs and vegetables are grown. I can’t recommend Ning’s Kitchen highly enough.
We had an amazing cocking class with Ning in an amazing location in Kohphangang. She taught us three simple meals, we could do easily any time. We started with a delicious “Pad thai”;and when through the whole process of preparing and cocking. The next meal was a simple but very good “Papaya salad”,with all kinds of different vegetables and spices. The last meal we cocked together was an amazingly delicious “massaman curry” wich really didn’t take as long as expected… All in all it was a great experience and we’ve learned three wonderful dishes we can cock at any time.Thank you Ning for this wonderful experience, we really hope to repeat this again!
