  1. This was the best ride I have ever been on. Paul and his staff were amazing and went above and beyond our expectations. Would recommend to everyone and have told anyone back home that will listen how incredible it was.

  2. Fantastic team thanks Asain Motorcycle Tours the 3 day tour was amazing , the food accommodation and the roads are second to none . Thanks again

  3. Having never experienced a motorbiking holiday before, it’s fair to say I was quite anxious when my husband booked us on a 5 day tour of Northern Thailand. I was imagining the worst – potholes, twisty roads, loose dogs, not being able to keep up, accidentally riding off the side of a mountain… Well by the afternoon of Day 1 I was soaking in the incredible views, reveling in the incredible roads – loving the twists and corners, and already sad that there were only 4 days left!Paul is a brilliant guide, his knowledge on all all things Thai is fantastic, he knows the roads like the back of his hand and he can certainly ride a motorbike! You feel like you are in safe hands and he even managed to sort out us with delicious local vegetarian food each night, which isn’t always easy to do in rural North Thailand. Not only is the motorbiking some of the best in the world, but the cultural stops you make along the way are well worth the visit. Notable stops on our trip were Lake Phayao, Wat Phumin temple at Nan, Salt well at Ban Bo Kleua, Long-tail boat trip across the Mekong to visit Laos, Opium museum at Golden Triangle, Wat Phra That Doi Tung and Wat Tha Ton.Luckily Paul offered to take us out for an extra day’s riding around Chiang Mai on our return, so our adventure extended to 6 days! Thanks for an awesome holiday – can’t wait to try out my new riding skills!

  4. This was the best guided motorcycle tour I’ve ever been on in any country and I ride all around the world! Paul was absolutely amazing and so much fun to ride with.I came with a friend and we wanted more serious riding than sightseeing. That’s exactly what we got! We did stop at a couple of the most important sights though. Paul took us down one of the most technical motorcycle roads in the country! It was definitely not for beginners and once again exactly what we asked for. We stopped for breaks throughout the day and Paul was a wealth of knowledge and a joy to talk to about history and culture. I will be back for sure! It was an unforgettable adventure!

  5. I’m now a repeat customer. Paul custom created a bike trip for my friends and I. He set everything up turn key. Another trip of a lifetime. Paul knows the roads, keeps us safe and let us maximize our time making turn after turn for days. Thank You!Great bikes too. John

  6. Incredible trip. I am a repeat customer with Asian Motorcycle Adventures and have recently completed 8 days of touring Northern Thailand. Paul is a very knowledgeable guide and was able to create a customized tour to exceed our expectations. Great roads, fantastic views, wonderful meals (you will gain weight), & lots of laughs. Highly recommended. Thank you!

  7. This was my 1st tour with Asian Motorcycle Adventures and was without doubt the best technical ride I have ever done. Our tour leader Paul is an excellent rider/tour guide, and has vast knowledge and understanding of the areas we visited. Our support crew were also fantastic and could not do enough to support us. Riding in the month of May, toward the end of the Dry season tended was taxing on the body given we rode in average 40C temperatures and high humidity. Replacing fluids and electrolytes regularly was a must. Accommodation and food throughout the ride was excellent. The motorcycles available to the riders are excellent and are perfectly suited to the roads and road conditions. The Mae Hong Son loop is a “must do” motorcycle tour for any motor cycle enthusiast. We are already planning our next tour…… Thanks Paul, Jemmi, Siri and Yi for making this a very memorable trip.

  8. My daughter and I rode from Thailand to Beijing, China, with Asian Motorcycle Adventures in October, joining a diverse group of riders from all over the world. Paul, our trip leader, kept the bikes in tip-top shape, and the Chinese guides he worked through were marvelous, taking care of things like visa invitations, first-class hotels, route selection, and a host of other details. Getting to our staging city on the Thai/Laos border was easy, beautiful and exotic. After guiding us through both Laos and China customs, we traveled on excellent roads through the high mountains of Tibet to Xi’an where we visited the famous TerreCotta warriors, and finally on to Beijing. I have traveled all over the world by motorcycle, and this was my first time using an “outfitter”. It was a marvelous experience, and I highly recommend doing it with Asian Motorcycle Adventures.

  9. Don’t get the wrong idea from the review title, I had a ball ! It’s just that Paul and I had many laughs along the way when we got a little off track unexpectedly. I was looking for a tour at my pace, stopping for coffee, or photo’s or lunch and just taking in the local culture. Paul had a basic plan with the overnight stops pencilled in, but in between we just made it up as we went along, finding new roads and back ways here and there. Day 1 was the run up to Pai. 1200 corners in 120 k or something like that. Great Hotel, Massage, couple of drinks at a local bar, then both felt like a burger, so it was Burger Queen for dinner. This was a find – awesome burgers in the middle of Northern Thailand. Don’t miss it. Day 2 Having breakfast, Paul mentioned a backroad on the map. Lady at the hotel said it was a good road, but something got lost in translation around 20k in. Dirt roads, steep dirt roads, degenerated into dirt track, then degenerated further into steep goat track. Paul kept telling me he doesn’t do dirt. 60 km in 4.5 hours. This is where I started using the phrase “not in the brochure”. 😂 Change of plans and an overnight stay in a log cabin resort, but the food was amazing. The bottle of scotch was the penance for getting lost and it went down well. Headed along the Burma border, great roads, great scenery up to the border crossing at the northern most part of Thailand. We just went for a walk and ate street food, but when the border shut at 9:00 pm so did the town. Bizarre, it went from a bustling busy road, to empty in the space of 20 minutes. Next day we hit the Golden Triangle, with a quick boat trip into Laos. From there we followed the Mekong downstream for a way. The water levels were really low, due to Chinese dams upstream. That night we stopped in a blow through town, but the hotel was 5 stars and 4 storeys in the middle of a cow paddock. I counted 50 rooms and only five guests. The real find was just down the road, with a brilliant seafood restaurant again in the middle of another cow paddock. This one is not to be missed. Service was superb, Drinks flowed, meal was fresh from the tanks, and an old friend of Paul’s arrived with a party of local ladies. That was a big night… Next day we took an alternative route back to CM, to avoid roadworks. Oops missed the turnoff, but only by 50 k; back around and up into the mountains… Black clouds, big black clouds…. Pull over and get the waterproofs on. Oh man did it rain… We had to keep moving, and when we got out of the mountains, I had 4 inches of water in my boots…and Paul was hyperthermic. A nice cruise back into CM negotiating holiday weekend traffic jams, followed by a very long hot shower. The good thing about the trip was everything was included in the price, so I didn’t put my hand in my pocket for anything, and that included a lot of iced mocha coffee. 😂 Paul is good company and conversations on the road and in the evening was very easy. This trip worked well for me, the Honda CB 500X was the perfect bike for these roads. I’m thinking about joining Paul for another trip further afield into the back blocks of China this year or next.
