Big Mum and her family hosted us for a lovely cooking class. We learned how to prep and cook a range of our favourite Thai dishes such as Pad Thai, Massaman curry, Chicken Cashew and Spring rolls! It was my Birthday and Big Mum surprised me with a cake! The result was an awesome day, with sooooooo much food. We were also sent the recipes via email, which I will be using once I return home for some yummy dinners!
Cooking class at its best! Big Mom is very heard opened – we were only two people – 8 dishes for 2 – was a little bit toooo much for eating – but we did our best🤪!
If you want to learn Thai cooking in an authentic environment this is where you should go. It’s a family run business and the family live upstairs. The kitchen is huge, outdoor but undercover so nice and cool, with all the equipment required. Big Mom was so friendly helpful and patient. She was also so much fun. Her English is very good too. There’s a menu from Which you choose which day you want to attend so you get to cook all your favourite Thai dishes, the food was so delicious and there was so much of it! I was the only student on the day I attended and still had the full programme. Thank you Big Mom! I can’t wait to try the recipes you emailed me at home.
Big Mom and Sak provide such a personal and friendly experience. We just loved our visit … and the food was delicious. Following up by sending the recipes was a lovely touch so we can create again back in Australia.
We were looking for an authentic Thai cooking experience. Big Mom was a last minute find and we went for it. Pak picked us up from our hotel and after some very safe driving and a market food tour delivered us safely to “his boss” house. His boss turned out to be his wife and from the moment we entered big Mom’s house we were treated as family. Big Mom’s eagle eye ensured that everything was done authentically, and the food was delicious. It was all hands on and very involved. We were lucky to be the only two in the class but could see the ability for big Mom to cater for bigger groups. All in all very authentic and great tasting food with a wonderful host and recipe sent later via email. Would do again in a heartbeat. Thank you Big Mom. Her heart laugh out a infectious!
Beautiful experience, you must come if you are in Phuket, you can try many tipe of dishes, and meet a nice people. Everything was perfect

It’s hard to find a way to encapsulate how special Big Mom’s cooking class is!At the last minute we had to change our booking which was accommodated by Big Mom. The woman herself then collected us from our hotel lobby telling us stories about her cooking escapades.Her home was beautiful, with a fantastic kitchen space and a family who welcomed us into the environment as if we were one of them. We cooked our dishes with expert assistance from Big Mom, producing delicious food which was some of the best we have experienced in Thailand.Don’t pass this up if you are in Phuket, even for a short period, we will be back for another lesson!
We had a great time , Big Mom and family are very hospital and kind . We learned some new dishes. We visited the local market to buy ingredients and learned how to cook from scratch. Highly recommend coming!

Big Mom Phuket Thai Cookery School provided an incredible experience for my 9-year-old Australian nephew (a budding chef) and me, his aunt from England. The day began with a fascinating market tour with Sak where we learned about selecting fresh produce and authentic Thai ingredients. The training was exceptional as we prepared and cooked six delicious dishes under Big Mom’s expert guidance, there are different dishes each day of the week! Her patience, skills, and insights into Thai cooking secrets made the session enjoyable and educational for all ages. With hundreds of students trained, it’s clear why she’s so highly regarded. We’re now eagerly awaiting our certificates! A must-do for anyone interested in Thai cuisine, no matter your skill level. There are many classes to choose from and I’m delighted we chose Big Mom!
