Found Mr Joy through TripAdvisor recommendations and did not regret my choice! Very knowledgeable driver and guide. He made suggestions to my planned itinerary and was very accommodating to our requests. My parents greatly enjoyed the comfort of travelling in a spacious van (especially when it was just the 3 of us) and Mr Joy and his wife were great company during our short stay in Chiang Mai.Thank you Mr Joy for looking after us during our holiday, everything went off without a hitch and we enjoyed ourselves very much especially knowing everything was taken care of!Do contact Mr Joy at [email protected] if you are looking at travelling to Chiang Mai for your next holiday. He is very responsive (I never heard back from some of the tour operators I contacted) and will get back to you with good suggestions to make your stay in Chiang Mai so much better.
We booked a driver to take us from Chiang Mai to Pai and so we could do some tourist stops on route. I don’t know whether he was just having a bad day or wanted to get back home to start the Thai holidays. He was not very friendly, he didn’t give us any tourist information, he wouldn’t stop where I asked so I could take photos. And the driving was insane, way too fast on the Pai road which had a big storm the night before, so roads were very slippery full of leaves, and very dangerous overtaking. We asked him several times to slow down and stop overtaking, but he slowed for a little while, then drove dangerously again. We arrived at our destination an hour earlier than we paid for, he didn’t suggest any other sights we could see, but we were keen to just leave him anyway. It wasn’t the experience we were expecting for the very hefty price we paid.
I found this driver on the website and contacted him via messenger and he was immediately contacted. And he kindly suggested a travel plan. I suggested him to where I wanted to go and planned an special travel plan. At the exit of the airport, he was waiting with my name card and I was able to find him right away.Also, although the weather was bad on the day, he responded flexibly and it was a very fulfilling and satisfying trip.I also went to his recommended coffee shop and was able to drink fresh coffee.It was very delicious and nice experience.Also, on an additional trip, his friend drove me suddenly, which made this trip a very good memory..Thank you very much. First thing first. We checked yesterday evening avaibility for this morning (sunday). And Mr.Ae responded quickly and confirmed a pick up at 8:30 am (perfect time, we got to eat breakfast with no hurry). Mr. Ae arrived before 8:30, and he had his son with him. So timing was perfect. We headed straight to Doi Inthanon. Mr. Ae was planned our trip just for us. Customised just the way we wanted.We got to see everything we wanted, and much more! His son was so kind and helpfully whole day. Escorting my wife down stairs and took pictures of us! Higly recommend this driver! Also compared to other private drivers the price was very comparable, even cheap if i must say. We met Mr. A at the train station when we got off coming up from Bangkok. He was able to suggest several hotels in the area that fit our needs as well as discuss a tour plan for the next day. He picked us up on time the next day, and took us to the elephant park and to tiger world. He was sure to have ice cold water for us and was able to make other suggestions for market shopping and other day trips. He was very friendly. The van was clean and fit my family of 6 comfortably. A even took pictures and video for us during parts of our tour. Highly recommend. I’ll keep his contact information for the next time.
My sister & I had the pleasure of having Bundit aka Mr A as our driver for 2 days in Chiang Mai & highly recommend him. We shared our itinerary and places we wanted to visit by Whatsapp. Everything was easy to arrange & he speaks good English. He was on time, friendly, funny, knowledgeable & accommodating to our needs and places to visit. Do not hesitate to reach out to him.
We contacted Mr A through WhatsApp on Friday and made arrangements for a full day of touring around Doi Inthanon national park on the Sunday two days later. The day was perfect; we had a few ideas of our own and Mr A gave us a few more suggestions that we didn’t know were possible. My wife, two kids and I had one of our best days out in Thailand so far thanks to Mr A – so much better than an “organized tour”, way more value and safety than renting a car for a day, and at a very reasonable price, too. Entrance fees and food were extra of course… We especially enjoyed hiking in the mountains but the waterfalls, summit and twin pagodas were special, too. Bring a sweater, it gets cold up there! Would highly recommend and if we were still in Chiang Mai would probably look into other day trip possibilities…. Thanks Mr A (and to your son, too).

Using a tour guide is a two edged sword. It is more expensive than taking taxies, group tours, or other modes of transportation. However, getting a good tour guide means less time on the road, flexibility and the ability to change plans easily. The Chiang Mai Driver was a great experience. The driver had a good command of the English language, was knowledgeable about the history and cultures, very approachable, and quite courteous. We enjoyed a full itinerary each day we stated. We were able to see a lot of different aspects of Chiang Mai and enjoyed playing with elephants, stroking tigers, the night market, see the highest point in Thailand and taking a day trip to Chiang Rei. Highly recommend this tour guide.
We had a wonderful experience with our driver during our trip to Chiang Mai. Mr. Ae was helpful and give guidance to plan throughout our journey & arrange Mr. B.
