I have just completed two weeks riding northern Thailand with Mikes and Bpuk of Thai Motorcycle Tours. An absolutely life changing event. The Mae Hong Son loop was amazing. The technical riding, complemented by the breathtaking scenery. Perfect. Bpuk, obviously the ‘boss’ organised meals, activities, and excellent accommodation for all. This was a small group, and I do believe the fact that everyone got along and enjoyed the complete experience, made this ride a highlight that I will always treasure. The Golden Triangle was different to the research I had done and to what I was expecting. Very interesting. The roads also involved technical riding with spectacular scenery. This was a larger group with differing experience and riding styles. It was wonderful to have Paul and Jemica along as second man corner drop for those of us travelling at the back of the group. Obviously we would not have seen or experienced as much of Thailand, its culture, sights and delights, if it hadn’t been for Miles and Bpuk. Miles can ride! He knows how to look after his group. Bpuk in the back up vehicle was always right there. Can’t figure how she managed that in Chiang Mai traffic! But, she did. At days end, yes, Miles is the life of the party with a quick wit and joke for all occasions. Bpuk, the quieter of the two, until she is in her element explaining her Thai culture, temples, and historical background. A wealth of information. All those involved with TMT do everything they can to make your holiday in Thailand hassle free, enjoyable and certainly memorable. Special thanks to Mr Big! This ride was challenging to me personally, on many different levels. I am so proud of myself for completing two very physically demanding weeks of riding. I had so much fun. One more ticked off my bucket list…. I want to do it again! Thanks Miles and Bpuk!
This was our 3rd Thai Motorcycle Tour which should speak for itself. Miles & Bpuk make the most perfect hosts, Miles leads the way at whatever pace suits the group with Bpuk following on in the truck carrying the luggage etc., how she manages to arrive only a few minutes after the bikes never ceases to amaze me! Nothing is too much trouble for this amazing husband & wife team, they totally want their guests to have a fabulous experience & love Thailand. Each tour has just the right balance of challenging riding, easier relaxing riding with plenty opportunities daily to experience the local culture from bathing elephants, visiting caves, evening street markets, hill tribe villages & temples. If you only ever visit Thailand once, make it count & take one of the Thai Motorcycle Tours letting Miles & Bpuk take great care of you.
We completed the Golden Triangle tour Thai motorcycle tours in March 2017 and had a great experience. There were 6 of us from Australia and we were joined by 2 very nice English gentlemen who proved to be great company. Every element of the tour was excellent including the accommodation and meals. In fact the food was that good I thought at times we must be doing and gourmet Thai food tour on motorcycles. The sights, scenery and the roads were great with a nice mix of twisty mountain roads and easy highway riding. A huge thank you to Mikes, Bpuk and Sister Pum of Thai motorcycle tours for looking after us so well and guiding us on a great tour of Northern Thailand with stopover visits to Burma and LaosI would not hesitate to book a tour with Miles again and hope to do another tour with them sometime in the future. If you have never done a motorcycle tour in SE Asia then this is the company to choose and if you have done one before and were disappointed then you should have booked with Thai motorcycle Tours, so give them a try.Well done and keep up the great work.Regards from Barry, Phil, Rex, Don, James and John.
I had great amount of fun riding on the Kawasaki versys along the northern jungle roads, and as to my request my tour guide which was a great guy and an excellent guide, avoid the tourist attractions and took me on the “local” and mostly vacant side roads.the jungle ride experience was fantastic, I had so much fun that if I’ll have a week or so next year, I’ll sure to book me another tour, thanks Miles!!!
Every aspect of tour comes highly recomended! Another excellent tour taken with TMT. Thanks Miles and Bpuk-see you next year.
I was looking for a tour guide to cross Thailand from Malaysia to London and chose Miles’ tour company while still in Australia. The Thai laws and their enforcement are at best confusing and arbitrary. While not Miles’ problem he stuck it out with me and was very flexible in accommodating me as we dealt with changed plans at short notice. He kept me on schedule as I had allowed only limited time in Thailand and setup a route which was an excellent taster of Thailand. A highlight was riding alongside the Mekong River. I’m particularly grateful for the wonderful insights he gave me into Thai life and culture. Thanks also to Bpuk for warmly welcoming me and just as warmly helping me leave the country 🙂 ?. These guys are wonderful and I’d recommend their tours to anyone. Thanks heaps.
Rented bike – Honda CBX 500 – in Chiang Mai then rode for 10 days around the fabulous roads if Northern Thailand . Up to Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle area on the Mekong River . Then out along the amazing 1862 highway to Mae Hong Son and Mae Sariang. Couple of days in each of these places riding fabulous local roads. Good cheap accommodation and, beer and fabulous local food available in all places. Then loop back around to Chiang Mae via the elephant rescue reserve.
Miles is your man for a guided tour and a good day of technical mountain pass riding. Also stopped for a coffee at an elephant reserve, saw a temple, and one of the waterfalls. A great and customized experience. Trust me. Skip the guided shopping tours of the Golden Triangle. See the real bits of Chiang Mai on a bike with this outfit!
