  1. Charter 4 times Tiki 30 and Tiki 38 with Max. He always arrange well our arrival to be ready to go Asap. First time we charter a Tiki with him he advise us well how to cruise around to avoid the tourist mass. If you want to cruise off the beaten track around Phuket charter your boat with Siam Sailing!

  2. Had an incredible time on a tiki 38. 8 day bareboat charter. Max is a unique and great guy. A relaxed experience in a beautiful place. Loved the wharram catamaran. Swim ladder is the best.

  3. Very nice family trip on Tiki 30, perfect boat for the program:Ko Phi phi, Ko Lanta, Ko Muk, Ko Rok, Ko Ha yai and Ko RachaLow draft allow to come close to the shore, and even beaching…Cruise time allow to avoid the crowd and have peaceful rest in marvelous beach !Thanks Siam sailing

  4. After the second time sailing Makz’s Hitia 26, we find it appropriate to write a few words for other adventurous travelers. First be aware that sailing with the Hitia is a rather primitive and at times uncomfortable sailing experience – but if you are not scared away by this, it really is the perfect way to explore the Andaman sea and it’s islands. You are sleeping on the deck, under the stars, and by day feeling the wind, waves and sun unfiltered. You can go close to all shores, yet the vessel proves adept at handling also higher sea and longer crossings. This was one of our best sailing experiences and we will come back for a longer sail next year.

  5. Just returned from five amazing days aboard Sabai Sabai – one of Max’s tiki 30s. There is nothing that compares to clipping along at 7 knots toward the next island Hong after a full day of exploring! We climbed, we kayaked into hidden caves, we enjoyed dinner on the aft deck while watching fruit bats embark for their evening forage, and we slept most nights laying on the foredeck looking up at the starsThe two of us found that the boat we chartered was quite comfortable, everything was functional / in adequate repair. What really stood out was that the boat was incredibly clean. Max pays attention to the painting both inside and out!We didn’t bring our kids (all under 10) on this trip, however it’s likely they will join us the next time! We were looking for an adventure at our own pace, a way to explore the Andaman according to what looked compelling for us – Siam Sailing delivered in a big way!!!

  6. We chartered the Hitia 26 for a short 3 day trip. We had an awesome experience. Macz is such a cool guy that knows his stuff and he gave us a very good briefing of places to explore in our limited time and we weren’t disappointed. The boat was in very good working order, bear in mind that the Hitia is for the adventurous, no toilet, no shelter so be ready for some sun exposure. We used the genaker a lot and that kept us moving at a very decent pace despite the light winds; advantages of light cats. We are looking forward for our next charter, definitely need to do it again.

  7. We have taken Tiki 30 for a five day charter. I have particularly liked Makz’s (the owner) sense of humour while he was handing the boat over to us as well as his precise information and instructions. The boat’s sailing capabilities were maybe even better. Tablet with charts and plenty of data was just an added bonus. Makz was online 24/5 and helped us solve the one or two issues we encountered. Can only recommend and we will sure be back.

  8. What a great time we had:Pickup from the airport to meet at the bar to pick up the boat up we had the 38 for 10 nights there was two of us for 4 nights and another 2 for 3 nights did lots of sailing and was grateful of the shallow draft as this is not keel boat cruising Boat was great and want well, came with all that was needed and it was so so so HOT but there was Fans in the Cabins that worked great and lots of drinking water and COLD BEER Makz was great and explained the boat and how it worked, we were carful not to push the motor and boat to hard but nothing major broke most recommended and would do again!

  9. We spent a month on Hana Tiki 30 ( and also sailed Veni Vidi Vici) Dec 19/Jan 20 – I must say was the perfect boat for us two friends and Max could not have been more helpful – in all really good experience and great value

  10. I went on the amazing Hitia 26, the smallest of their Wharram designed catamarans that are rented out. The Wharram’s are excellent sea boats and well suited to sailing from Phuket since they can be easily beached on the many islands in the Phang Nga Bay. If not fully beached, I found the tide sufficiently gentle to swim ashore, with due caution. This boat has no cabin and a deck tent is used for sleeping, which adds to the adventure because you feel closer to the elements. I left the tent open each end at night and felt the cooler night breezes and looked out at the stars. On one night there was very heavy rain and wind and the tent coped with this, being reliable and strong. The Hitia 26 is great for sailing, the twin hulls tracking smoothly and effortlessly, a slight weather helm counteracted by using a rope system to fix the course. The boat is based on an ancient Polynesian design, which meant I felt a connection with seafarers the past, when boating did not involve the inevitable noise and bustle of using an engine in order to make passages. Instead, I relaxed into the rhythm of the sea and wind, made easy by the predictable wind directions and strengths, mostly at this time of year from the north east. I anchored in bays with sandy beaches and on the side of islands that provided shelter from the prevailing wind and waves.Makz, the owner of Siam Sailing, is a brilliant enthusiast, He built and now maintains and rents out his four Wharram Catamarans, also with the help of his employee called ‘Popeye,’ possibly eponymously. As a team I found them so helpful, Makz providing an eloquent and succinct introduction concerning how to set up and sail the Hitia 26, which made it all very easy, his dry sense of humour amusing. He also was very attentive and provides a telephone for daily ‘check ins’ and an iPad for navigation. Given I did not bring a radio, this seems an appropriate way of ensuring communication to deal with any problems along the way, which in my case were none. The Hitia 26 is fairly primitive in terms of comforts but sophisticated and clever as a sailing boat and you can marvel at the formula that James Wharram hit upon about 50 years ago when he designed this class of boat. The spirit of adventure was his vision and the Wharram boats deliver.
