I knew I wanted to visit UNG Pearl farm even before I arrived in Phuket after reading the reviews.. and I am glad I did! We learnt about Pearl farming and Pearls.. it was fascinating and a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend visiting the UNG Pearl farm.. stunning pearls (at reasonable prices), lovely atmosphere and beautiful sea views!
Me and my partner was there to get ourselves something special for our day. However we were greeted by I believe the owners or someone within that. With a very stinky attitude. Just from the moment we got there although we have not seen their product this review is based on ONLY the welcoming. Always talking back and was telling us to listen.
I visited this shop twice during my trip. I loved the first piece so much I went back and got some more unique pieces to take back home. They have incredible settings and fair prices for high quality jewelry. The second time I came I wanted some dangly rose gold earrings to match my necklace ; they showed me a few setting options and crafted a unique piece for me within 20 minutes. All their pearls are grow right in front of shop on Ao Yon Beach and the salesman’s took a great deal of care allowing me to browse a wide selection of their jewelry. This a family owned and operated business and you can tell they take extreme amount of pride and care in their business.
Friendly authentic family run pearl business. From the outside, there is a signage, and as you walk in, it is an unassuming place and the shop is at the end towards the beach. We were greeted by the mum & one of the son ‘Piaou’. Forgive my spelling. So obliging too, the dad showed us how he insert the round bit from the shell into the oyster too. Tom & ‘Piaou’ (the sons) explained in detailed about the various pearl type. It was educational for our boys too, even including the difference in Chinese & Tahitian varieties. We purchased a pearl necklace. There are many beautiful types including bracelets, special customer bracelets, chokers, earrings etc. And I think the prices & selections are much better than the big glitzy shops. And you are directly supporting local, authentic, primary producer; honest, hardworking, people!
We stumbled upon this pearl farm after we realised we couldn’t go to another due to bookings being required. Being able to just turn up was so convenient and the extended opening hours were a huge plus too. The UNG Pearl Farm was quite a way from where we were staying (hence us not originally planning on visiting), however, it was definitely worth the trip and I would do it again in a heartbeat! It is a small family run pearl farm and they are so kind and enthusiastic about their work. They walked us through the process of farming the pearls, showed us some of the steps, and happily answered all of our questions. We have been to pearl factories before, but have never seen or heard about the farming process. The pearls they sell are absolutely beautiful too. I cannot recommend this pearl farm enough. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.
Wonderful experience at this pearl farm. The owners were very friendly and informative. We were explained the entire process of pearl farming and bought some beautiful earrings and a bracelet at a very reasonable price. It will be a nice reminder of our trip to Phuket every time I wear the pearls.

My mother and I stumbled upon the UNG Pearl farm and shop. The young man that showed us around was lovely and we found it fascinating. The shop is full of lovely, good quality pieces and at a price point for all budgets. We bought some gifts to take home, which were beautifully packaged and loved by their recipients. The sea practically laps the door of the shop and it all has a sort of romance about it . I would highly recommend a visit to this place and hope to return in the future. Thank you Ung Pearls.
An amazing scenic location to purchase two maybe bracelets as a constant reminder of our amazing holiday in Thailand. We stayed in Phuket and struggled to find a Bolt prepared to take us to the UNG Farm shop. Glad we percivered. We had a demonstration on how the pearls are cultivated. My wife & sister then selected their pearls and bracelets. Paul delivered to our hotel at the arranged time the following day! Based on our experience would highly recommend and encourage anyone to drop by UNG Pearl Farm & shop.
Such a lovely place! Exquisitely beautiful items on display and extremely kind personnel. We also were told about the process of making the pearl jewelry which was interesting to hear. I bought myself one piece that will keep reminding me of our wonderful time in Thailand when I get back home.
