Been there many times, not booked room but now how’s it looks and think it’s worth it’s. And just awesome to just stop by and hang out and chill. Good location, near to pier and not far from beaches. And really amazing staff, so really recommend this place 👌
Thanks to everyone at Olly’s bar for a warm and friendly atmosphere. We extended our stay because of the people we met there and it was wonderful. Staff are friendly and helpful, Olly’s wife went out of her way to treat us to some great food and taught us some tricks in the kitchen. When we met Olly, he had just travelled from Cambodia and must’ve been wrecked, but he was kind and chatty and happy to get to know us straight away. He also gave us great tips on where to go in Cambodia (Thanks Olly!).
Went to Ko Samet with My friends and we did not had any rooming there, Olly fixed us a room and rented scooters. He gave good tips about where to eat good local food and knew everything about the island. Bar was nice The atmosphere there was so quiet and good that we spent there two nights instead of one.
( …well next to a swim).I love Ollys Bar & Hostel. I’ve stayed at the hostel 4-5 trips now… Love the sleeping cubbies. Each cubbie has a light and plug… a sliding door you can lock from inside if you wish at night… a storage cubbie for luggage is also available. (Carry your own small luggage lock) Nice large spacious toilet/ showers… the bar in front is a great spot to chat up fellow travellers, play cards over cold beer after a day of beaching, The staff is friendly & helpful. Prices quite reasonable,
This hostel was absolutely amazing!!!! My friend and I stayed for three nights, and we had some of the best experiences in Thailand here. The individuals who ran the hostel, specifically Law, were such warm, welcoming, and wonderful people!!!! Law even made us friendship bracelets, which I still wear to this day!! This place is a 5 minute walk from ships that you arrive on the island on, and it is near everything! Apparently, Olly is pretty popular with many people on the island. We continuously ran into his relatives, his close friends, etc. We did not have the pleasure of meeting him, but through what we heard, he is a great man. He also emailed us ahead of time to let us know he would be out of the country at the time of our arrival, but that we would be cared for – which was a very kind thing of him to do!!! I would definitely recommend!!!!

Our favourite bar experience. We went everyday for three days. Wonderful staff, attentive and kind. Relaxing, soft furnishings to just chill out on and people watch. 2 wines, 2 beers please X 5 lol.
Ok, so I was a bit confused reading the reviews about it being the best bar on the island, since I went here for breakfast 😀 but according to my brekkie experience, I don’t doubt it for being a great bar experience too.The staff was very friendly and welcoming, the breakfast options great, and the chillout area next to the road with pillows you sit/lay on was cool. And the cool house music playing in the background gave a chill beach vibe to the experience. Really recommend this as breakfast place!
Ollys is one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in!! They go above and beyond to help. Before we even arrived they were at the end of the phone to help us when we were confused at the port. Not only was the hostel extremely clean but the facilities and security was great also. The staff were welcoming and lovely, with amazing English. They recommended the best spots to eat, drink and snorkel. If visiting Koh Samet, it’s a must you come to ollys even if it’s for a drink.
