  1. We had such a great morning learning how to prepare authentic Thai dishes. Tam is the sweetest woman and cooking in her beautiful kitchen was a treat. Our day started with a longtail boat ride through the canals to her home, followed by touring her gardens, cooking our menu and eating lunch on the patio with a talking bird named Basil and her friendly rooster Soy Sauce!

  2. WE scheduled this activity upon reccomendation of a tourist guide. At first, I wasn’t sure about spending an entire morning during our vacation in THailand going to a cooking class. I am very grateful I did. It turned out to be a wonderful experience. First, you get to the school by boat, and since the school is located on a side channel of the Chao Phraya river, you get to see a slice of life in the river that you normally wouldn’t see. The cooking school is a family business at a private residence. The ownar, Tami, is your host. She is so hospitable, and friendly, that it makes you feel you are there to share a meal with a local family, not for a paid tour. You get to walk through her herb garden with a short course of the different types of herbs and condiments used in Thai cousine. Then, you get a demonstration of how to prepare 4 dishes, and then, you get the chance to try preparing them yourself. At the end you eat your creations in one delicious lunch. We truly enjoyed this experience. Much more than I thought I would. Highly reccomend.

  3. I have been to a couple different style cooking classes in the States and this has been the best so far. If you go to the website it explains pretty well what to expect. The day of the week determines the menu you will prepare. Tam was very easy to understand and explained things very well. You can tell she enjoys what she is doing. I really enjoyed my experience and would recommend it to any others who have extra time to spare in Bangkok.

  4. Very beautiful surroundings, a perfect organization very well oiled and a splendid time spent with Tam and her team. We got a very interesting garden tour with a lot of explanations about each plant, flower, spices of all kind and then an explanation of each step to attempt cooking Thai by ourselves. Very educative and informative. I would recommend this place to anybody. My wife was absolutely delighted.

  5. Fabulous day of food and more! Garden tour with Tam on beautiful family compound on river. Great demonstrations. Very pleased to answer questions. We cooked too. Even we made great food.

  6. Ms. Tam, the proprietor, opened the class just for us and another couple. She and her staff were so gracious, informative and entertaining. We were taken to her home / garden / kitchen by river boat which was quite fun. Once there, we were introduced to many traditional Thai ingredients that were growing in her garden. She and her staff gave a demonstration of the courses that we were to prepare and then we gave it a whirl under her supervision. At the end of it, we had prepared a soup, two entrees, sauces and dessert. After the cooking, we had a lovely meal of our handiwork in her beautiful garden. What a treat! A MUST DO!Families with older (>10?) who like cooking and can do so safely would be okay. Definitely not for those with wee ones, unless one parent can opt out of the cooking.

  7. My wife and I only had a few days to enjoy Bangkok, so we hired A and K to take us around. This spot was one of our favorite activities for our entire trip. Tam and her team / family are amazing. Her beautiful home on the river was a beautiful respite from the traffic and noise of the city. She took us around her garden and taught us about the local foods and flavors. We then got to actually cook a small feast. I don’t think you will need to plan to have a large dinner after the meal… we were happily full for nearly the remainder of the day. We highly recommend this activity if you enjoy food and learning about the local culture.

  8. We had a delightful morning and lunch with Tam and her team. She is charming, warm, knowledgeable and great fun to be with. Her house on the canal is a haven of peace and tranquility and walking around her garden … you would never think you were in Bangkok. We thoroughly enjoyed the cooking lesson which was very well organised and beautifully laid out. The lunch was a veritable banquet. We can’t wait to try the recipes at home.

  9. From the hotel pickup, the boat ride and of course the cooking class, it’s a full on great experience Tam is competent, welcoming and very entertaining. The cooking class itself is of good caliber and very well executed.Last but not least, the food is excellent

  10. I found this hidden gem from a guide book. We had such a great time learning how to cook basic yet super delicious thai dishes. Our teacher Tam spoke excellent English and we were taken good care of during the whole day. Not to miss while in Bangkok!
