Great yoga and meditation experience! Amazing teachers and a stunning setting. Highly recommended! I loved it!Since September I’ve been meditating daily and this is partly your fault:-)I set this goal during my retreat and it worked!I’ve been trying to meditate regularly for years but each time I started, I stopped shortly after. This time it worked and I’m so happy! It really changes something in your life. Now I feel more relaxed, more resilient, more balanced and happier.
I went on a retreat with Francie at Pure Flow Yoga a year and a half ago. The place was magical. But mostly, she was really inspiring to me.I recently did a coaching session with her. It was really wonderful and empowering! Totally recommend Francie and Pure Flow Yoga!
I did Pure Flow Yoga retreat over Christmas and it was a truly magical, mind and heart opening experience. The classes and workshops are very intense and informative, the teachers are supportive and have great knowledge. The setting could not be better – right in the jungle – one day we could even spot some monkeys playing around in the trees! And it´s directly by the sea – a perfect place to relax inbetween the classes. Once there, don´t miss the cacao ceremony! One week at Pure Flow Yoga gave me more than I could expect, I felt calm, balanced, and healthy. Surrounded with like-minded people and beautiful nature. Thank you Francie and Margit.
The yoga shala is beautiful and I really appreciated the added experiences of the night time labyrinth walk and sunrise hike. The locale is magical and the food at the Bamboo Huts had many delicious options (I speak as a meat eater who tried to stay vegan during the visit as recommended). I liked preparing the shala, the mandalas, and making the tea before meditation. I even arrived early to do this when I was not scheduled to do so. I have only two pieces of critical feedback. First, the experience really needs a ‘retreat coordinator’ to make sure everyone is getting to, from, and around Haad Yuan okay. I sent an email about my late arrival and they replied back, but then when I did arrive, they were like ‘oh, we were wondered where you were…yeah, now I remember the email you sent.” (My tip: Make sure you book your flights in accordance with the ferry schedule to/from Koh Phangan. Its better to avoid spending the night in Koh Samui because your flight didn’t arrive in time to catch last ferry to Koh Phangnan.) Also, we made many trips to the Sanctuary (nearby beach resort) without guidance and in the dark. We lost our way as a group in the jungle on multiple occasions. I wish the instructors had arranged to show us the way from the Shala (which is super quick and easy) at least once or paid someone from the Bamboo Huts to do this. There is really no need to have us wandering about sweating at 5 am in the morning in the dark. Slipping and falling is really easy to do as the pathways are very uneven (and abundant… so-if you are like me- you will get turned around, then turned around some more, and then slip and fall). My other piece of feedback is regarding the yoga. We had 2 instructors, one for the morning session and one for the evening session. The evening session was meant to be less vigorous than the morning one, as we usually did a Gentle flow or Yin yoga during this time. I liked both although I had extreme anxiety about doing anything as I am a fairly weak beginner. I would have liked more direct demonstration on how to modify poses with blocks or straps. There were many casual mentions about grabbing a strap or block if the full pose is “not available to you,” but it was not commonly shown. On the other hand, demonstration was always given to show how to make a pose more advanced (with a twist, or a bind or a leg over your head…behind your head…you get the picture). I would have appreciated even the direction about when to get my strap or block ready… and the morning instructor did do this pretty consistently. I think after 5 days worth of classes, I received 1 maybe 2 adjustments from each instructor the whole week. As the classes were not large, I was somewhat surprised by this and disappointed. I realize that the advanced postures must be done carefully, so I understand why those students receive lots of adjustment to help them “find their edge.” I would have appreciated some help with this as well even though I was on the other end of the spectrum. On the whole, I came to escape the holiday madness in December, rejuvenate, restart my yoga practice, and hopefully make some new friends. From that perspective, I am satisfied.
I was the karma yogi at Pure flow in December 2019 and it was the best time of my life 0! Honestly, the place is a hidden heaven. From the day you get there you’ll feel something is magical about this part of the island. Francie is an amazing person, inspiring angel, a gift from heaven to this earth to show you how much power you have on you! The retreats that she’s running are life changing!! It is a journey of the self, through the self, to the self, and you’ll be lucky to have the best guide throughout this journey. They also do 200h yoga teacher trainings, the timing wasn’t right for the one for this year but I’m looking forward to do the upcoming one! If you wanna treat yourself with some good food, wake up to amazing beaches and sunrises and travel with purpose, Pure Flow is what your looking for! I can’t wait to be back there ❤️
I did a week retreat in January and stayed a few days after. The yoga shala was absolutely beautiful and both teachers, Franci and Sophie, were super professionals and warm hearted, welcoming human beings. They really made me feel home there. The yoga was good basic level but most importantly I think the week was structured nicely to accommodate all levels and give you tools for your own practice. There’s meditation twice a day and and the surrounding nature really inspired my dharma. The location is beautiful and has a good balance of chill out and parties. It’s bit posh but nonetheless there are many many lovely people to meet and share an amazing experience. I’m grateful for my time there and I’m very much looking forward to come back soon. Namaste 🙏🏽
First of all, the shala is located in the jungle, surrounded by abundant nature and only 5 min away from a stunning beach (Haad Yuan). The place is isolated from chaotic traffic so it’s perfect to relax and turn inward. There aren’t many restaurants around the area, but the few ones around are just amazing. The teachers are incredible and always happy to help and support the students, with active Vinyasa classes in the morning and gentle flow/Yin yoga in the afternoon. The retreat balances between meditation/pranayama sessions, yoga classes and workshops. Besides that, they offer a steam room and a massage pass which is great to find more relaxation and self-care. Pure Flow Yoga truly is a hidden gem!!!
I’ve been attending the yoga retreat for one week and I’ve had an amazing time. What I personally liked about it:- Amazing location (also lots of nice things to do during breaks/free time)- 2 different yoga teachers (so different personalities, styles) who were so kind and tried their best to make sure everyone felt comfortable (during and outside yoga practice)- I met an amazing group of people who also attended the retreat. For me it was just really nice to hang out with and talk to people who share the same interest for yoga/meditation- The week has been really insightful for me which I didnt necessarily realize while I was doing it. Afterwards I came to many realizations which have definately helped me alotPoint of improvement:- I personally missed interaction/personal attention in a sense that the group would have been able to participate in Q&A sessions with the teachers. I also shared this feedback with the teachers during the retreat and shortly after I heard from someone that there was already more room for this, so feedback definately gets implemented!
Francie is a phenomenal source of heart, positive energy and spirituality. Her yoga instruction is inspiring in a most appealing and elevating manner. I feel blessed to have her as my teacher
Francie is an amazingly talented yogateacher and just a very nice person to be around. She shares her wisdom in such a charismatic way that it really ignites a spark.
