  1. This a a fantastic gym/ fight club. I’ve come from Australia for a “training holiday” and been living in Monsoons dorms for around 3 weeks, training 2-3 three times daily with Muay Thai, jujitsu and weights. All staff have been accommodating and have excellent English; from trainers, cleaners, managers etc. I came in with little Muay experience, but through the instruction of the trainers I feel much more confident with kick, knees, elbows, punches etc: putting it to the test with daily sparring. The gyms right on the beach, metres from massage, shops, yoga, food, bars and more. I’d absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a fight camp experience, or just looking to improve basic skills and fitness 👌🥊

  2. I have never practiced any kind of martial arts, so my first visit at Monsoon was really exciting for me. Also I’m not in a very good shape, so the intense training soon got me winded. But I suppose that if I’d kept it up a few days a week, I would soon become fit.The Thai instructors are skilled and friendly, and waste no time bringing all the students into the different fighting techniques (hand, elbow, foot, knee, blocking etc.).I’ll certainly come back next time I’m in Koh Tao, and if I was staying for a long time this would be my training centre.

  3. I had a great time at this Muay Thai gym. I have been to a number of Muay Thai gyms around Thailand and this is one of the best so far. Darius and his team offer well organised and fun classes, treating everybody with respect. People of all fitness levels can join these classes. It doesn’t matter if you’re coming for a single class or joining for a few months training. If you’re on your own, don’t be afraid as the team are friendly and will teach you all the basics.Darius has all the equipment you need. Just turn up in your gym kit ready to sweat!I spent two weeks training here in January and really enjoyed it. If you’re on the island it’s well worth going to at least one class.

  4. I booked 4 weeks including the dorm and I mainly came for the Jiu Jitsu. Unfortunately Luke was sick with Covid the first couple of days, therefore I started my stay with Muay thai. The Muay Thai trainers Gong and Win are so friendly and extremely skilled fighters. They meet you at your level – wether you are a beginner or experienced. When Luke came back my Jiu Jitsu training started. Luke is such a skilled Jiu Jitsu player. His style is very wrestling based combined with the classic 10th planet moves, which was a lot of fun to practice. Luke is a great guy and a great trainer. If you are looking for an authentic fight camp with owners and trainer this is the place for you. Luke, Darius, Gong and Win – Thanks for the stay. Hope to see you some other time!

  5. I booked a month unlimited training and accommodation, best decision of my life 🙂 I was recently injured in a motorbike accident and come to monsoons to learn to move again and they where amazing with working around my injuries and getting me back in to shape. The doorm was full of amazing people motivated people to train with and socialise with. Like a little family away from home. The aircon in the doorm is turned off each day tho, so just plan around not sleeping tho the day or between training rounds. Gym is a 30mint walk to the beach and amazing food!!!! The owners and couches took us out a lot and showed us amazing restraints and some local parties 🥳 The gym put on a fight night while I was there so that was an extra amazing thing to have while staying there. Training is amazing, coach’s are amazing, the owners are amazing!!! 1 month was not enough time at this great gym and will be coming back 🙂

  6. This an absolutely incredible gym. Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned Muay Thai fighter- the highly experienced trainers have a class for you. Darius, who runs the place, has been on the island for over 20 years and has perfected the formula for a gym. They also offer great Jiujitsu classes as part of the world renowned 10th Planet family. In addition there are boxing, HIIT and weight lifting options, basically anything you need. Finish off your session with dunk in the ice bath which is cleaned and refreshed daily. I can’t recommend this place highly enough- make sure you don’t miss out!

  7. Real Muay Thai experience in real Thai gym. Nog nooit zo hard gezweet. Iedere dag vrije training om 08.00 en om 16.00 voor 300 baht.

  8. Their striking very good but no one test grappling I would submit I think. But they have good facility I think. Nothing beat Dagestan training though.

  9. Monsoon Muay Thai Gym in Koh Tao is hands down one of the best places to experience authentic Muay Thai, whether you’re training, spectating, or both! From the moment you arrive, Luke, the one and only, ensures you feel right at home. His warmth, hospitality, and commitment to creating a safe and enjoyable environment are truly exceptional. The gym boasts a team of professional trainers who are world-class in every sense. I had the privilege of a private lesson with Gon, a former Muay Thai champion. His expertise, eye for detail, and clear communication made the session not just productive but transformative. Gon’s ability to tailor the training to your level ensures everyone, from beginners to advanced practitioners, gets the most out of their session. The other trainers are equally skilled, passionate, and approachable, making each session inspiring and rewarding. What sets Monsoon apart is its on-site professional Muay Thai ring, where they host regular fight nights. Watching professional fighters from both nearby regions and abroad compete in this intimate yet electric setting is an unforgettable experience. The energy is incredible, and it’s a fantastic way to immerse yourself in the sport and culture of Muay Thai. The gym also features an adjoining gym and weights room, perfect for those looking to round out their training with strength and conditioning. This facility is included with private sessions, making it a fantastic value.Monsoon Muay Thai isn’t just a gym—it’s a hub for Muay Thai enthusiasts, blending top-tier training with genuine community spirit. Whether you’re training with champions, watching fight nights, or just enjoying the camaraderie, this is a must-visit destination on Koh Tao.I can’t recommend it highly enough!
