  1. We went here on our honeymoon and this was by far the best tasting food we ate during our entire time in Thailand. Bangkok, and Phuket included. We made the most delicious curry, pad Thai, peanut sauce, and pancakes. Just as everyone else says, come hungry! You eat everything you make and you make a lot! Bring your own to go container and you’ll have food for days. This class is a must for any wannabe chef. Amazing experience here!

  2. We had a great time at the cooking school. We learned a lot, nothing too difficult that we can’t try again at home. We came hungry and left stuffed!

  3. We had a great four-hour cooking class this morning and would highly recommend it. We learned to make several types of chili paste, tom yum soup, green curry, papaya salad, massaman curry, pad thai, peanut sauce, and mango with sticky rice. We left with a booklet of recipes and several containers of food—it was a really fun way to spend our last morning in Chiang Mai.

  4. The only cooking school were they were actually serious about teaching us to cook! We prepared several dishes including curries made from scratch, mainly using natural ingredients. The teacher was a very friendly, generous and committed young lady. Loved the class and could have come back for more….which was actually foreseen, since we had booked a 3-day course and even found accommodation close to the school. Only to find out the day before that just the standard half-day course is offered in Chiang Mai, contrary to what advertised on May Kadee’s website and confirmed to us by email. The booking are apparently managed by someone sitting in NY, not so helpful…disappointing and 1 star less because of that, but still a great class.

  5. By far the best food I had in Thailand and the fact that we cooked it was amazing. I now have the tools to make my favorite dishes. This class was perfect and the instructor was amazing.

  6. We had the best experience learning to cook with Nim! The set up is fantastic with plenty of space to cook, each with their own burner and chopping area. We made some of the best food we had eaten all holiday (and we had some great food). Can’t recommend this course enough. Luckily it was just the 2 of us (max of 4 per course) so we had loads of time to ask questions. Nim is lovely and makes the experience so fun and enjoyable. Can’t wait to make the food again at home!

  7. My wife and I had a brilliant experience at this cooking class. We made some of the best food we ate in our entire trip to Thailand! The couple that ran the class were very helpful and attentive and explained the basics behind the flavours of Thai cooking very well.Don’t make the mistake we did of eating breakfast before you go. You make a lot of delicious food.

  8. Thoroughly enjoyed every dish in this vegan restaurant. The food is super fresh & delicious! The service was good & the restaurant clean. Would definitely return if in Chiang Mai again.

  9. We attended this class in February 2024, and had such a blast. The food is really, really good, and loved that it was vegetarian, which was not so easy to find in Bangkok! The fun dance at the end was a great finale. Come hungry, there will be lots to eat, and breaks to eat between cooking! Love that you make the paste and the food, so you understand everything that hours into the food. Our teacher was so lovely. We went by the May Kaidee restaurant after the class and she greeted us like old friends and sat with us and chatted.

  10. We scheduled an afternoon cooking class in Chiang Mai at May Kaidee in advance of our trip in May. Great communication from the organizer and reminders were sent several times before our arrival. The day of the class we met at the May Kaidee restaurant and were then driven to the workshop site, which seemed to be the instructor, Diana’s, home. It was a quaint, outdoor space where we could see some of the ingredients growing in the yard.Diana was very friendly and fun. She provided a booklet with recipes and space to take notes. The program was laid out well and for maximum efficiency. We learned to create roughly 7 different dishes using the same basic ingredients. A few other items were also tossed in the mix, so all in all, we made a lot and were given the opportunity to eat it all! There was so much food that they were kind enough to pack it up for us to take for later. This was definitely worth the time and money for the knowledge and experience. It was also reassuring to know that everything was vegan. We are still talking about it (“Take picture now!”) and using our new skills to recreate the delicious Thai food at home.

  11. Excellent experience learning how to make red and green chili paste and then from there learning 7 red chili based soups, green chili based soup, several appetizers, Massaman Curry and finally Thai sticky rice. Truly fantastic. I can highly recommend this experience while in Chiang Mai.
